Los Angeles police released new video of a carjacking suspect they say went on a crime spree, hitting ten pedestrians and causing multiple hit-and-run collisions before leading to a high-speed chase and ending with a head-on collision with an SUV in a drive-thru.

Police say the victims range in age from 15 to 70 years old, with the criminal complaint saying one victim was put into a coma with paralysis.

A new bill backed by gun-rights advocates aims to stop lawsuits that seek to hold firearm manufacturers and retailers responsible for the criminal misuse of lawful products.

Supporters of the SHOT Act say these lawsuits are an attempt to push gun control through the courts instead of through elected lawmakers.

The fight over Second Amendment rights is moving from legislatures into courtrooms.

Off-duty Det. James Fares pulled him out, saving his life.

On Tuesday, they were reunited for the first time.

Leon says that day inspired him to become a police officer.

Vehicle Theft Trooper Kenneth Haut has retired from the Iowa State Patrol after 36.5 years of service. Trooper Haut began in 1990, served in multiple areas and leadership roles, and spent 20+ years in the vehicle theft unit.  Well done Brother! 💙

Please, praying for the Columbus County NC Sheriff’s Office deputy who was injured in the line of duty this morning.🙏🏻

A Columbus County Sheriff’s Office deputy was injured in a crash Thursday morning on U.S. 74-76 just east of Hallsboro.

The wreck happened around 10:45 a.m. The deputy was taken to the hospital. The deputy’s condition was unknown at press time.

WATCH: Video shows the moment a cabin was engulfed by the fast-moving flames of the Cottonwood Fire burning in Beaver County, Utah.

UPDATE: The Cottonwood Fire has exploded to 70,992 acres and remains 0% contained, according to fire officials.

Firefighters continue working around the clock on multiple fronts:

• Crews are working to protect the North Creek area on the west side of the fire.
• On the east side, firefighters are building fireline from Highway 153 toward the Little Twist burn scar.
• Hand crews are preparing homes and structures in the Cottonwood Creek area.
• Rocky Mountain Power has assisted by clearing vegetation near power lines to help with fireline construction.
• Additional Rapid Extrication Module Support (REMS) teams are arriving to improve emergency medical response for firefighters working in remote terrain.

Yesterday's cooler temperatures and higher humidity helped moderate fire behavior, but only about one-tenth of an inch of rain fell across the fire area. Scattered showers and thunderstorms are expected again today, with wind gusts of 25 to 35 mph that could increase fire activity.

Helicopters were temporarily grounded Tuesday because of strong winds and poor visibility from smoke but returned to operations once conditions improved.

Air quality may improve at times as rain and shifting winds move smoke out of area valleys. Air Resource Advisors are expected to begin providing daily smoke and air quality forecasts.
