Praying for the NYPD officer who was shot in the line of duty this morning.ππ»
An NYPD officer was shot in the leg in gunfire with a barricaded suspect in Bedford-Stuyvesant, Brooklyn on Friday morning.
The officer was taken to Kings County Hospital where he is being treated and is expected to recover.
The 48-year-old suspect was also shot. He was rushed to Woodhull Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The suspect had been barricaded in an apartment on Kosciuszko Street since before 6 a.m. on Friday.
Police responded to the scene after neighbors called 911, reporting gunfire around 5:45 a.m. The man ran into the apartment after the shooting and other residents fled to safety as he locked himself inside.
Police established a dialogue with the suspect and hours later around 9 a.m., shots were fired.
Two firearms were recovered in the apartment.
The man apparently had prior interaction with police, but his record is mostly sealed.

This is INSANE. Meet the acting chief of the Annapolis PD - who needs to be the FORMER acting chief.
Earlier this week, her department put up a "suspected ICE activity alert" - because two ICE agents who were being stalked and harassed pulled into the police department for safety.
Instead of providing any kind of activity or protection... THEY ALERTED THE COMMUNITY ABOUT "ICE" ACTIVITY".
We've been FLOODED with officers from the agency reaching out to express their total FURY - all begging us to let the world know that it's their EXTREMELY liberal acting chief who is desperately trying to keep the job.
She apparently believes that by pandering to the leftist leaders in the city, she'll get to retain power.
And she's not afraid to put the lives of law enforcement on the line while on that power trip.
Go back to knitting, "Chief". You're not a police officer. You're a political hack who wormed her way into a uniform. You're a traitor to the badge and the country and the only reason you're in this position is because of bullshit DEI policies.
What a disgrace. Make her famous.

Los Angeles: On May 5, 2026, at around 1244 pm; Mission Patrol Division uniformed officers responded to an additional unit request from Mission Area Narcotics Enforcement Detail (NED) officers who observed a suspect, later identified as Jason Vega, wanted for outstanding warrants. When the officers contacted Vega, he fled on foot, onto the embankment of the eastbound 210 Freeway.
Vega then ran across the 210 freeway where he attempted to carjack a pickup truck that was travelling west on the freeway. The officers again contacted Vega, who was observed to be armed with a handgun. Numerous commands were given to Vega to drop the firearm, which he refused to comply with, resulting in an Officer-Involved Shooting.
Vega fell to the ground, disregarded officerβs commands, and moved toward his firearm. The officers used an intermediate force option to gain compliance from Vega and he was taken into custody. Vega was transported by rescue ambulance to Olive View Medical Center, where he was treated and medically cleared for booking.
A Glock handgun, Model 22, 40-caliber was recovered at the scene and booked as evidence. No community members or officers were injured as a result of this incident. Force Investigation Division (FID) investigators responded to the scene and assumed investigative responsibility for this incident.
