Residents surrounding Crawford are evacuating, and ranchers are trying to get their cattle to safe locations. The fire is now over 16,000 acres. Over 1.1M acres have burned in the state so far.

Beachgoers witnessed a rare spectacle as a fisherman caught a great white shark on the south shore of Nantucket Island, Massachusetts, on Sunday before releasing it back into the ocean.

The fisherman estimated that the shark was more than 8.5 feet long and weighed around 300 pounds. He said he unhooked and released the protected shark in about 15 seconds, after a long battle to reel it in toward the shoreline.

Newly released dashcam video shows a Pasadena police officer getting shot by a fellow officer in what the police chief described as a “horseplay” incident.

A Pasadena police officer was shot by another officer after both allegedly pointed loaded firearms at each other inside a department parking structure. Police Chief Gene Harris called it “unsafe, out-of-policy horseplay involving loaded firearms.” The wounded officer was struck in the shoulder and later recovered.

Horse play is spraying someone with a water hose.This is a catastrophic failure in judgment that could have easily turned deadly.

A Canadian national has been sentenced to 33 years in federal prison after prosecutors said he targeted more than 145 children in a horrific sextortion scheme.

Some of the victims were as young as six years old.

It is with a heavy heart that we regretfully announce the untimely passing of Detention Deputy Jonathan Morales Pabon. Jonathan passed away last night as a result of an off-duty motor vehicle accident on I-4 in Haines City. He was 32 years old.

Jonathan was a dedicated member of our agency. He was assigned to the South County Jail Alpha platoon and has been employed with our agency since 2021. Prior to his PCSO career, he was a corrections officer for the Florida Department of Corrections. He was originally from New York City.

Jonathan did not know a stranger. He was outgoing and made friends everywhere he went.

Please keep Jonathan’s family in your prayers during this difficult time.

West Columbia Police SC say a police officer is injured following an officer-involved shooting Wednesday night.
Officers responded to the 500 block of North Brown Street at about 9:30 p.m.
Police say during the incident, an officer and the suspect suffered gunshot wounds.
They were taken to the hospital where officers say they are in stable condition at this time.
