Border 6 Fire Update:
Marron Valley along the U.S./Mexico Border, approximately 6 miles south of Dulzura, California.

The Border 6 Fire is now estimated at 1,000 acres and 5% contained, according to CAL FIRE.

Firefighters faced challenging conditions overnight as the fire made an estimated 300-acre run through rugged and highly inaccessible terrain. Fire activity moderated after sunset, aided by cooler temperatures and increased humidity, allowing crews to make progress on containment efforts.

Today’s fire behavior will largely depend on weather conditions. Once the marine layer burns off and temperatures begin to rise, increased fire activity is possible across portions of the fire area. Winds and difficult access continue to present challenges for firefighters working the incident.

Many Californians could be waiting days or even weeks for final election results, while other big states like Florida are often able to report most results on election night.

Regardless, Voter ID should be mandatory nationwide.

A Baltimore Police officer was sent to Shock Trauma on Sunday after a dirt bike struck her from behind during an arrest in Charles North, court records show.

This weekend’s incident in the 1700 block of Maryland Avenue, near Penn Station, comes as the city’s political and law enforcement leaders look to address illegal and sometimes dangerous dirt bike riding across Baltimore.

A city police officer identified only by the last name Vasquez was taken to the Maryland Shock Trauma Center around 3 a.m. Sunday, soon after authorities took a 30-year-old man into custody, according to the man’s charging documents.

Vasquez has since been released from the hospital, a police spokesperson said Wednesday, but has not yet returned to duty.

Bakersfield Hostage Taker Neutralized:  Dishonorably Discharged Vet Criminal Record! 

Federal agents have identified the suspect who was shot and killed after holding 10 people hostage inside a bank building in Bakersfield, California for approximately 12 hours.

FBI Special Agent in Charge for the Sacramento field office Sid Patel identified the suspect as Anthony Scott Searles-Harris, a 41-year-old White man who was "no stranger to law enforcement."

Searles-Harris had previously been dishonorably discharged from the U.S. Army for going absent without leave during his service and is also a registered sex offender.

Two hostages were released before Searles-Harris, who had explosive materials including a bomb, was “neutralized" around 4:20 a.m.

NEW: Arizona Department of Public Safety officials say the trooper involved in a fatal shooting near Benson was injured during the incident and is recovering at home.
The trooper involved has 28 years of law enforcement experience. Investigators report the trooper stopped 39-year-old Berkleigh Bond for speeding on Interstate 10 on May 25.
Bond gave a false identity and resisted arrest last Monday morning before 8 a.m. DPS says she tried to drive away with the trooper partially inside the vehicle.
The trooper fired, and Bond died at the scene.
