This morning, I met with Chiefs from several local school district police agencies to discuss consistency and uniformity within the Memorandums of Understanding between all involved agencies, as well as continued efforts to strengthen overall school safety throughout our communities.

Strong partnerships and collaboration are critical when it comes to protecting our students, staff, and families. I appreciate the shared commitment from each of these leaders as we continue working together to keep our schools safe across San Bernardino County.

NEW: A Brooklyn man is being charged with threatening to assault and murder an ICE officer outside the Delaney Hall detention facility.

The suspect, identified as 27-year-old Nicholas Matthew Scelfo of Brooklyn, New York, was arrested for influencing, impeding, and retaliating against a federal officer by threat.

Scelfo, who was caught on video allegedly threatening to kill an ICE officer and his family outside a New Jersey detention center, has now been arrested.

"I'll kill your whole f---ing family... Your children, your wife — all dead."

WATCH: Los Angeles County Sheriff Robert Luna spoke about ICE’s presence at upcoming World Cup games at SoFi Stadium.

While federal agents will be on duty, ICE has told the sheriff’s department there will be no immigration enforcement at the games. Luna said, “If that starts occurring, we’re going to have a whole new host of problems.”

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – May 30, 2026; 08:00AM)  It is with profound sadness that the Lawrenceville Police Department announces the passing of Officer Travis Clarke, who was killed in a traffic accident on Friday, May 29, 2026.  The accident which is being investigated by the Gwinnett County Police Department occurred while off-duty. 

Officer Clarke joined the Lawrenceville Police Department in November 2025 and was assigned to City Hall where he interacted daily with the public and city employees across multiple departments.  In his time with the police department, he made a lasting impact on those around him through his infectious smile, positive attitude, and unwavering passion for law enforcement.

Officer Clarke enjoyed serving his community and looked forward to continuing to grow and advance his career. His loss is being felt not only throughout the Police Department, but across the entire City of Lawrenceville family. He was a valued colleague, trusted friend, and dedicated public servant whose presence will be deeply missed.

Deputy Sheriff Utt was a military veteran and served with the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office for 2 years and 5 months. He is survived by his wife and two children.

Teen Takeover Shooting Clearwater Florida on May 31, 2026, a 17-year-old boy was shot and wounded during a chaotic "teen takeover" event.

The shooting took place around 5:15 p.m. in the 100 block of Coronado Drive, near Pier 60 and the Wyndham Grand Resort, following a fight that erupted among the massive crowd of teenagers.

A 17-year-old male suffered non-life-threatening gunshot wounds to the stomach area and was transported to Orlando Health Bayfront Hospital.

Clearwater Deputy Police Chief Michael Walek issued a strict warning following the event, emphasizing that the city will not tolerate illegal social media beach takeovers and that future attempts will result in immediate arrests.

DEVELOPING: RCMP responding to active shooter at Pelican Narrows health clinic, Saskatchewan, Canada.

The Saskatchewan RCMP has issued a dangerous person alert for an active shooter at the health clinic in Pelican Narrows.

RCMP officers are responding. They believe the suspect is a man wearing all black clothing with a face covering, according to an update issued at 3:16 p.m. on Monday. The suspect is on foot, but the RCMP do not know which direction he is heading.

Residents in the community are urged to find a safe location and lock the doors. Those who are not in Pelican Narrows are urged to stay away from the community.
The RCMP said the situation is “rapidly unfolding” and they will provide more updates as soon as possible.

UPDATE: Shortly before 2:00 p.m. June 1, 2026, Pelican Narrows RCMP responded to a report of a shooting near the local health clinic Pelican Narrows. The incident did not occur at the clinic as initially reported.

Two people were located injured. One person is confirmed deceased and one person is seriously injured. We are not providing more identification details about these two individuals at this time. No other injuries have been reported to police in relation to this incident.

Saskatchewan RCMP arrested a suspect at a residence in Pelican Narrows at approximately 7:07 p.m. The dangerous person alert issued by the Saskatchewan RCMP for Pelican Narrows and surrounding area has been cancelled.

Investigators thank the public for their assistance. The investigation continues. Further updates will be provided as they become available.
