The Heidelberg Borough PA Police Department announced the sudden death of their chief, Dennis Dixon.

The department said Dixon was found dead in his vehicle around 8:50 p.m. on Monday. Dixon joined the department in 2008 and was later promoted to chief of police in 2018.

Heidelberg Mayor Ken LaSota mourned the chief, who joined the borough police force in 2008, by saying he β€œhad a very distinctive career in Heidelberg.”

As a sergeant, Dixon was in charge of the police force’s K-9, a dog named Rocky, LaSota told TribLive. As a lieutenant, Dixon attended the FBI Academy in Quantico, Va.

β€œEven though we’re a small department, for us to get an officer accepted in Quantico, it says a lot,” the mayor said.

In 2018, Dixon became chief of the force, which currently counts five full-time officers and two part-time officers among its ranks, borough officials said.

Dixon was married and had two children, LaSota said.

Rest Easy Brother. Prayers for his family of blue and blood. πŸ™πŸ»

NEW: NMSP Leading HazMat Investigation Following Deadly Exposure at Mountainair Residence

At approximately 11:00 a.m., the New Mexico State Police responded to 306 Hanlon Ave. in Mountainair, New Mexico, to assist the Torrance County Sheriff’s Office with what was initially believed to be a suspected overdose involving an unidentified substance.

Four individuals inside the residence were found unresponsive. Three of the four individuals are now deceased.

During the response, 18 first responders were exposed to the substance and began experiencing symptoms, including nausea and dizziness. The occupant and 18 first responders were transported to the University of New Mexico Hospital, where they are currently being quarantined, evaluated, and monitored. Two first responders are currently listed in serious condition.

Albuquerque Fire Rescue HazMat teams are assisting at the scene in efforts to identify the substance involved. At this time, investigators believe the substance may be transmitted through contact and do not believe it to be airborne.

There is currently no threat to the public. A secure perimeter has been established, and the affected area remains limited to the residence.

The New Mexico State Police are leading this ongoing and active investigation. Additional information will be released as it becomes available.

We ask the public to avoid the area and keep all affected individuals and first responders in their thoughts.

I hope the Public is watching as the Department of the Interior, Doug Burgum, and myself, are opening up many of the decades old, closed Fountains throughout the D.C. area. So far, over 20 have been revitalized, and fixed, looking better than the day they were built, many years ago. We have some left, some were in very bad and difficult condition, but we will get them all done in a short time. D.C. is being reawakened as to its Beauty, Elegance, and Charm. The β€œGranddaddy” of them all will be The Reflecting Pool β€” 2,500 feet long, and almost 200 feet wide, the biggest such structure ever built, but also, the most troublesome for many Administrations in that, from the time it was built in 1922, it essentially never really worked! It leaked from all angles, drew dirt, grime, and decay, was often filled with garbage, and wasn’t at all representative of the two Great Monuments it connects β€” The Lincoln Memorial, and The Washington Monument. But, very soon, before July 4th, it will be far better than it has ever been, even going back to as long ago as 1922 β€” Its Original Opening! The Biden and Obama Administrations spent over 100 Million Dollars, and made it far worse! It was only open for a short while, during each Administration, before the leaks and decay took over. I, together with Doug Burgum and the Department of Interior, am fixing it the right and proper way β€” It will last for many decades into the future. We’ve had rain delays, and have substantially increased our scope of work as to quality, durability, and even including the stone and granite on the outside of the water itself β€” A big job, much bigger than originally conceived, but it is being done, after over a Century of β€œstop and go’s,” correctly! You will see something very special at the Reflecting Pool in a short period of time. Stay tuned. In the meantime, watch as the Fountains open throughout D.C. Fountains go up, and Crime goes down! Also, watch for Lafayette Park, directly in front of the Main Entrance to the White House. I have made a major contribution toward it. The Fountains are now working, and look magnificent as the Park is being entirely rebuilt, using far better and more beautiful materials than originally used. As the Entrance to the White House, it’s got to be spectacular β€” There is no other way! Again, check out what’s going on at Lafayette Park. President DONALD J. TRUMP

WATCH: DOJ announces indictment against former Cuban President RaΓΊl Castro

🚨 "Today, we are announcing an indictment charging Raúl Castro, and several others, with conspiracy to kill U.S. nationals," says ToddBlanche in Miami.

"My message today is clear: the United States and POTUS does not, and will not, forget its citizens."

There’s a reason why we are here, and not in Washington, D.C., to announce this indictment. The community here understands the history of the Cuban regime better than anyone in America.

A Portland police officer is recovering after investigators say a suspect hit him in the face with a softball-sized rock during an arrest in the Overlook Neighborhood.

On Thursday, May 14 at 11:35 p.m., Portland police officers responded to a home in the 3900 block of North Overlook Terrace on a report of a burglary in progress.

The caller reported that a man she did not know had broken into her home while she and her children were inside, and that he threatened to kill them all.

Police said the woman armed herself with a stick and chased the man, who grabbed a metal garbage can lid and fled.

Officers quickly tracked the suspect into Overlook Park and tried to stop him, but police said he did not comply with commands to stop, even after being told he was under arrest.

He ran out of the park into an alleyway and back into the neighborhood, and officers called for additional resources and used "tactical apprehension strategies" while pursuing him to keep him in sight.

Officers could see he had an object in his hand that appeared to be the metal garbage can lid, police said.

At North Concord Avenue north of North Prescott Street, police said the suspect ran up a ramp leading to the pedestrian bridge spanning Going Street.

As officers approached, police said the suspect suddenly turned and squared his body toward the lead officer.

When the officer moved in, the suspect struck the officer in the head. The officer did not realize at the time that the suspect had a rock in his hand, police said.

The officer was able to take the suspect to the ground as other officers ran up to assist, and they worked together to take him into custody, a Portland Police Bureau release said.

A rock roughly the size of a softball was found nearby, police said.

Timothy L. Reed, 35, of Portland, was booked into the Multnomah County Detention Center on charges of burglary in the first degree, escape in the first degree, assault in the second degree, assaulting a police officer, and criminal mischief in the third degree.

The officer was taken to the hospital in a police vehicle, treated and released. Police said he has been cleared to return to duty.

Please join us in sending prayers and, or positive thoughts for his recoveryπŸ™πŸ»

BREAKING: DHS confirms to FoxNews that the semi truck driver arrested for killing two people in a hit & run crash near Sacramento, CA yesterday is an Indian illegal alien who was caught & released at the AZ border by the Biden admin in 2023, Bill Melugin reports.

His name is Manvir Singh, and he is now facing charges in San Joaquin County, CA for vehicular manslaughter with gross negligence and hit & run resulting in death. He allegedly tried to flee the scene on foot after the crash. ICE has placed a detainer on him with local law enforcement.

This is the fourth Indian illegal alien truck driver with the last name β€œSingh” that we’ve covered who has been arrested for killing innocent people in crashes around the country, going back to last year.

No details on his CDL yet, or if he even has one. More to come.

DHS statement to FOX:

β€œThis criminal illegal alien from India should never have been behind the wheel of a semi-truck and allowed to kill two innocent people in a multi-vehicle crash in California,” said Acting Assistant Secretary Lauren Bis. β€œHe is now charged with vehicular manslaughter, hit and run resulting in death or injury, and resisting a police officer. This is yet another example of why illegal aliens should not be operating trucks on American highways. We need Congress to pass Dalilah’s Law to prohibit states from granting illegal aliens commercial driver’s licenses.”
