WATCH: VP Vance speaks at manufacturing plant in Missouri

VP in Kansas City: "We are bringing the United States of America back β€” and it's starting right here in the great state of Missouri... We decided to put American businesses and, most importantly, American workers first."

In Kansas City, VP slams Congressional Democrats for opposing POTUS' historic tax cut: "That legislation provides the biggest tax cut for working class Missourians that we have ever seen... it should have been simple to get Democrats to vote for more money in your pockets."

VP: "If you are committing fraud against the American people, you ought to go to prison... Just last week, we actually prosecuted a fraudster who was stealing people's check information, stealing their identity, and writing bad checks... That person's going to prison."

⚠️DEVELOPING: As temperatures rise across Southern California and dry conditions continue to spread, fire officials are urging residents to prepare for what is expected to be another dangerous wildfire season. Agencies including the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection and local fire departments say prevention and quick action can help reduce the risk of devastating brush fires.

Wildfires can ignite within seconds during hot, windy conditions, especially in areas with dry grass, brush, and heavy vegetation. Officials warn that common causes of brush fires include discarded cigarettes, illegal fireworks, unattended campfires, equipment sparks, vehicle fires, and downed power lines.

Firefighters say residents should begin preparing their homes now by creating defensible space around their property. This includes clearing dry vegetation, trimming trees and bushes away from structures, and removing flammable materials from yards and gutters. Homeowners are also encouraged to keep emergency supplies ready and develop evacuation plans with family members.

Authorities remind drivers to avoid parking vehicles over dry grass, as hot exhaust systems can ignite vegetation. Residents using outdoor equipment such as weed trimmers or chainsaws should avoid operating them during high heat or windy conditions due to the potential for sparks.

If a brush fire breaks out nearby, officials say the public should immediately call 911 and provide the exact location of the fire along with visible landmarks. Residents are advised not to attempt to fight fast-moving fires themselves. Instead, evacuate the area quickly if instructed by emergency personnel.

During an evacuation, people should gather essential items including medications, identification, important documents, phones, chargers, and pets. Authorities also advise residents to keep vehicles fueled and parked facing outward for a quicker escape if evacuation orders are issued.

Fire officials emphasize the importance of monitoring emergency alerts, local news stations, and official social media accounts for evacuation warnings and road closures. Even small brush fires can rapidly spread under strong winds, threatening homes, businesses, and lives within minutes.

As fire season intensifies, emergency crews across California remain on heightened alert, urging the public to stay prepared, stay informed, and report fires immediately to help prevent small incidents from becoming major disasters. Pictures attached are of two current fires one in Simi Valley and the second in Azusa, California.

BREAKING: Supervisor Lindsey Horvath told me the county can't fix unsheltered homelessness because they don't have the land.

They have the land.

Rancho Los Amigos in Downey: 74 county-owned acres, bought in 1887 to house the destitute, sitting unused since 1988. Wraparound medical and mental health services already on the adjacent campus.

You could shelter up to half of LA County's unsheltered population here alone.

Instead it's becoming a $479M office complex, warehouse, and parking garage β€” built at nearly triple market rate, restricted to the building trades unions that gave $100K to her campaign and helped her pass Measure A, the $1B/year homelessness sales tax she uses to route money to her donors.
