Today, on National Peace Officers Memorial Day, we honor all law enforcement officers who have been killed in the line of duty, and the sacrifices they have made to keep our communities safe.

Each year, the names of fallen officers are added to the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Wall in Washington, D.C. This year, 363 names were added, including 109 officers lost in 2025. Among the additions from previous years is Oregon Game Warden Arthur S. Hubbard, who was killed in 1914 while serving a search warrant in Jackson County.

Earlier this year, OSP provided information to ensure Warden Hubbard’s name could be added to the memorial. Members of the OSP Honor Guard traveled to Washington, D.C. to honor him and all of Oregon’s fallen heroes.

The Oregon State Police has lost 34 members to line-of-duty deaths. These brave individuals made the ultimate sacrifice in service to the people of Oregon, and we honor their heroism today and every day.

BREAKING: Google Maps Satellite Imagery of Palisades Fire Area Reverts to Pre-Disaster Views Amid Mayoral Race Scrutiny

Pacific Palisades, CA Residents and observers are raising questions after Google Maps satellite imagery of areas devastated by the January 2025 Palisades Fire appears to have reverted to pre fire conditions, more than 16 months after the blaze.

The Palisades Fire, which erupted on January 7, 2025, in the Santa Monica Mountains, became one of the most destructive wildfires in Los Angeles history. The fire burned over 23,000 acres, destroyed thousands of structures across Pacific Palisades, Topanga, and Malibu, and claimed multiple lives.

Eyewitnesses and official reports confirmed widespread devastation, with satellite and aerial imagery shortly after the fire clearly showing scorched landscapes and leveled homes. Google reportedly updated its satellite layer multiple times in the following months to reflect the damage.

However, if you check now, recent imagery in many affected neighborhoods has reverted to older, pre-January 2025 views. Homes that burned are shown as intact, and the visible burn scar has diminished or disappeared in places.

I personally watched dozens and dozens of homes burn during the fire. It’s pretty odd that the images would revert back to 2025 images to make it look undamaged. So many people don’t realize the magnitude of the size of the fire and now can’t see how much of the city burned.

If you don’t believe me, check it out for yourself!

The coinciding with the 2026 Los Angeles mayoral race. Challengers, including reality TV star Spencer Pratt, whose own home was destroyed in the fire have prominently criticized the delayed response of city officials, pointing to issues like resource management, preparedness, and recovery efforts.

The discrepancy in widely used mapping tools has left some survivors feeling the scale of their loss is being visually minimized at a sensitive time.

A beloved retired K-9 in Indiana was walked through an honor guard of officers as his owner carried him into the vet to be euthanized.

The emotional moment was captured on video by Allison Zartman, whose dad was the handler for the K-9, a 13-year-old cocker spaniel named Bubka who worked in narcotics detection.

β€œI recorded my dad carrying his retired K-9 into the vet to cross over the rainbow bridge,” Zartman told Storyful. β€œMy whole family was there, and my dad’s coworkers were lined up outside the vet to give him a proper goodbye...It was an emotional moment for all of us, as we love Bubka so very much."

Thank you for your service Bubka! Rest easy, good boy🐾

Last week, Trooper Levi Eaton & Trooper Nolan Philpott visited the Fort Gibson ELC to talk to Mrs. Cooper’s Kindergarten Class during career week. They explained to the kiddos all about their jobs and how they help keep the people of Oklahoma safe. They also let them look at and sit in what the kids called "their really cool vehicles.”

BREAKING: Tonight, at my direction, brave American forces and the Armed Forces of Nigeria flawlessly executed a meticulously planned and very complex mission to eliminate the most active terrorist in the world from the battlefield. Abu-Bilal al-Minuki, second in command of ISIS globally, thought he could hide in Africa, but little did he know we had sources who kept us informed on what he was doing. He will no longer terrorize the people of Africa, or help plan operations to target Americans. With his removal, ISIS’s global operation is greatly diminished. Thank you to the Government of Nigeria for your partnership on this operation. GOD BLESS AMERICA! President DONALD J. TRUMP

BREAKING: Newsom Let’s Out Convict Who Shot At Cops Early; Gets Arrested Again With Sawed Off Shotgun

Sheriff Pat Withrow blames Governor Gavin Newsom for yet another failure of his β€œcompassionate early release” program. For those thinking it’s a political argument, Withrow himself is a registered Democrat. This follows a long pattern of Newsom’s purposeful policies putting California residents in danger of being harmed.

Per SJCSO:

β€œSAN JOAQUIN COUNTY ARREST UPDATE

Steven Rodriguez, 57, was released from prison in November 2025 through California’s compassionate release process after serving time for a violent 2017 ambush-style shooting targeting Stockton police officers. During that incident, officers came under gunfire during a vehicle stop, and a Stockton patrol car was struck by bullets. Thankfully, no officers were injured.

Rodriguez was originally sentenced to 20 years in prison for his role in the attempted murder case involving law enforcement officers.

On May 7, 2026, the San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Office arrested Rodriguez again on multiple weapons-related charges, including possession of a firearm by a prohibited person, possession of a short-barreled rifle, and unlawful possession of ammunition.

This case renews debate and concern over California’s compassionate release policies and the risks posed when violent offenders are returned to the community.

The safety of our community will always remain the San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Office’s number one priority. Releasing an individual who attempted to kill a peace officer, and is a threat to our community, is deeply concerning.

Our office remains committed to protecting this community and standing alongside the men and women who put their lives on the line every day to keep others safe.”

Today, on National Peace Officers Memorial Day, we pause to honor and remember the brave men and women who gave their lives in the line of duty. Their sacrifice, courage, and commitment to protecting others will never be forgotten.

This year, this day carries an even deeper meaning for our TCSO family as we continue to mourn the loss of one of our own. We stand united in remembrance, honoring Detective Randy Hoppert’s life, his service, and the legacy he leaves behind.

At the Tulare County Sheriff’s Office, we remain committed to carrying forward that legacyβ€”serving our community with the same strength, dedication, and heart.

We stand with the families of the fallenβ€”today and always.
We will never forget. πŸ’™

NEW: The homeowner says his attorney has sent a 30-day notice to vacate to the tenants. The man in the backyard also remains on the property.

LA City Councilwoman Heather Hutt’s office told NBC4 they are trying to figure out what they can legally do about the situation.

The LAPD says no crime was committed and that it’s a civil matter between the landlord and the tenant.
