They may run when our social media team is comingโ€ฆ but they will never run from serving our community.

During Law Enforcement Appreciation Week, we want to recognize the incredible men and women of the Alameda Police Department. Even though they would rather hide from the camera, we cannot thank them enough for showing up every day to serve our community.

In 2025, APD officers responded to 43,849 incidents and investigated 4,980 cases. Each incident represents a moment when someone in our community needed help. Our officers continue to respond to each call with professionalism, care, and an unwavering commitment to public safety.

To everyone in this profession, thank you for your commitment, sacrifice, and service. We appreciate everything you do for your communities.

โ€œFor all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus: whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God; To declare, I say, at this time his righteousness: that he might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus.โ€

BREAKING: The South Carolina Supreme Court is overturning the murder conviction of Alex Murdaugh in a unanimous decision.

Murdaugh was convicted in March 2023 of double homicide of his wife and son.

The court is ordering a new trial, saying that Mary Rebecca Hill, who served as the court clerk in Colleton County, showed "improper external influences" during Murdaugh's first trial.

A post-trial court found that Hill "made improper comments to the jurors on the day Murdaugh testifiedโ€ and instructed them to watch Murdaugh's body language.

BREAKING: LA Police Commissioner Teresa Sรกnchez-Gordon just resigned from the civilian oversight board because of credible threats against her and her family.
She said it plainly: โ€œI have to focus on my girls and their security.โ€
When the people who oversee the LAPD no longer feel safe doing their job, your city has a serious problem. This isnโ€™t โ€œactivismโ€ or โ€œprotestโ€ โ€” itโ€™s straight-up intimidation that forces public servants to choose between their duty and their childrenโ€™s safety.
Mayor Bass called it โ€œappallingโ€ and ordered an investigation. Good. But investigations donโ€™t protect families. Real leadership does.
Los Angeles: this is what happens when threats replace accountability. Enough.

JUST IN: Tensions flare between the CIA and Sen. Rand Paul over a COVID-19 whistleblower hearing.

The agency is reportedly โ€œnot happy,โ€ accusing Paul of acting in bad faith as he pushes forward with testimony tied to the virusโ€™s origins.

Paul fires back, telling Bill Melugin the CIA needs to โ€œobey the lawโ€ after Congress passed a measure to declassify COVID intelligenceโ€”arguing thereโ€™s no reason for continued secrecy.

This morning the FBI held our annual Wall of Honor Ceremony at Headquarters in D.C. - a day where we remember the lives and service of our fallen FBI members, and just as importantly, itโ€™s a day to honor the families they left behind.

The Wall of Honor is where the FBI honors our heroes who made the ultimate sacrifice in service of the mission - it was my first visit when I took over as the 9th Director.

This year we were joined by over 100 family members and friends as we added five names to the Wall:

Special Agent Rupert V. Surratt โ€“ End of Watch: October 8, 1933

Special Agent Timothy Parker โ€“ End of Watch: March 26, 2022

Photographer-Senior ERT Lorenza A. Moore โ€“ End of Watch: March 2, 2023

Supervisory Special Agent Gerard Conrad โ€“ End of Watch, December 18, 2023

Supervisory Special Agent Dennis M. Wagner Jr. โ€“ End of Watch: March 5, 2025

These heroes and their sacrifices deserve to be remembered.

To the families, friends, and colleagues of all FBI members lost in the line of duty โ€” thank you for your bravery and service.

FBI Director Kash Patel
