A packed house and a great cause - April 29 at Comedy Works Downtown brought the laughs in support of the Friends of Boulder County Sheriff K9 Association (BCSK9). Established in 2017, this nonprofit is dedicated to providing financial support for both active and retired K9s of the Boulder County Sheriff’s Office - helping ensure these dogs get the care and resources they deserve during and after their service.

We were also joined by Sarah Horbacewicz from News Colorado , who stopped by with K9 Uri to help promote what’s next.

Mark your calendars: K9 Guardians on the Green returns September 26, 2026 at Ute Creek Golf Course. This is the second annual golf tournament hosted by Friends of Boulder County Sheriff K9 - the only nonprofit solely dedicated to supporting BCSO’s K9 Unit. We’re aiming for 36 teams of four, with 20 hole sponsor opportunities and multiple sponsorship packages available. It’s a great chance to get out on the course, meet the deputies and their K9 partners, and directly support the mission.

Special thanks to Wende Curtis for hosting the show at the world famous Comedy Works, and Alek Seballes for capturing the night with outstanding photos.

WATCH LIVE: President Donald J. Trump Participates in the White House Small Business Summit

https://fb.watch/GUIwMy67ih/

POTUS welcomes small business owners to the White House during National Small Business Week:

"You're the lifeblood of the American economy, and with your help, we're truly Making America Great Again." 🇺🇸

POTUS details how his historic tax cut has helped American small businesses:

"We provided 100% expensing and bonus depreciation... so that businesses can deduct 100% of the cost of new facilities, equipment, and capital investment in the first year."

POTUS: "We’re getting rid of 129 nonsense regulations for every new one that we pass, and thanks to these pro-growth policies, our economy is roaring, and factory construction is way up... business investment is more than triple compared to that of just a short time ago."

Rick Harrison speaks at the White House on National Small Business Week: "The backbone of this country is small business—plain and simple... The Big Beautiful Bill, absolutely amazing... he's going to go down as maybe the best president ever. I love this guy."

Andrew Saville, President of Georgia-based Coosa Steel: "The thing that took us right to the top was your tariffs... all the jobs that were going to China, you brought them back, and it really took us to the next level." 🇺🇸

SBA Kelly: "In 2025 alone, we guaranteed a record $45 billion in lending to 85,000 small businesses through local banks. That’s an all-time record at the SBAgov — and we did it with 53% fewer staff at the agency."

POTUS honors Mark Lamoncha, President & CEO of Humtown Products, for being named the SBAgov National Small Business Person of the Year:

"We have a 10% increase in hiring, and we’ll be able to buy more of those million dollar printers that we were able to print the 'Fight! Fight! Fight!' statue that was in Butler."

BREAKING: Gunshots fired near the White House complex, at 15th and Independence.
Secret Service locking down press office and other locations.

More details will be provided as they become available.

UPDATE: "U.S. Secret Service personnel are on the scene of an officer-involved shooting at 15th Street and Independence Avenue in Washington, D.C. One individual was shot by law enforcement; their condition is currently unknown. Please avoid the area as emergency crews are responding."

UPDATE: A juvenile bystander was shot but not critically injured in an exchange between Secret Service officers and an armed man near the White House complex Monday afternoon, according to the Secret Service.

At least one Secret Service Uniformed Division officer shot and apprehended the suspect Monday afternoon before President Trump’s press conference, Secret Service Deputy Director Matt Quinn confirmed.

The suspect and the juvenile are now at George Washington Hospital, Quinn.
No Uniformed Division officers were short or hurt. Quinn did not say whether the juvenile was a boy or a girl and what type of injuries the child suffered.

“I can tell you that at least one bystander — we believe only one — was hit by the suspect,” Quinn told reporters at press conference late Monday afternoon. “That individual is a juvenile, did not sustain any life-threatening injuries, and is also receiving treatment at the hospital.”

Quinn said an investigation is underway, but so far the agency could not say whether the child was hit by the suspect or the Secret Service officer, although he noted that “everything I’ve seen leads me to believe the juvenile was struck by the suspect.”

The deputy director also noted that Vice President J.D. Vance’s motorcade had driven through this area “not long” before the shooting, though the suspect didn’t appear to have attacked or targeted the motorcade.

At approximately 3:30 p.m. Monday, Secret Service patrols spotted a suspicious individual who appeared to have a gun. Patrol officers located and confronted him, and the suspect fled briefly on foot then withdrew a firearm and fired in the direction of the Secret Service agents and officers, Quinn said.

At least one Secret Service officer then opened fire on the suspect, shot and apprehended him.

“These are trained surveillance detection personnel looking every day for just that,” Quinn said. “They observed a visual print of a firearm not far from the White House complex.”

The Secret Service has recovered the suspect’s firearm.

33% reduction in felonious “Line of Duty Deaths” for our law enforcement partners compared to Q1 last year. These men and women are more than a number - one is still too many, so we have more work to do. But this is headed in the right direction.

Today, I had the honor of joining state and local law enforcement officers and community members at the annual California Peace Officers’ Memorial Ceremony.

The officers we recognize today represent the very best of California. Their legacy is lasting — in the lives they saved, the communities they protected, and the example they set for all of us.

California will forever be indebted to their sacrifice and service.

Please, praying for the Itasca County Sheriff's deputy who was shot in the line of duty this afternoon.🙏🏻

Minnesota: A deputy was injured during an officer-involved shooting in Max, in Itasca County earlier Monday, according to the Itasca County Sheriff’s Office. Max is 26 miles north of Deer River.

The sheriff’s office said the deputy injured and was transported for medical care, but the extent of the injuries is not being released. The suspect is in custody and there is no ongoing threat to the public.

The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension (BCA) will investigate the incident, and the Itasca County Sheriff’s Office is cooperating fully.

No further details are being released to protect the integrity of the investigation.

“We ask the community to keep our deputy, their family and all those affected by this incident in their thoughts,” the sheriff’s office said in a social media post.

Visited Spencer Pratt's neighborhood yesterday in the Palisades almost a year and half after the fire. Sad.

Los Angeles needs change, I grew up here in the 70’s when it was strawberry and orange fields and went to elementary, junior high, high school and college here, opened businesses up here, raised my family for 58 years and they’re raising their families here. This is the worst it’s ever been. It isn’t about what side you’re on it’s about making our city we all live in safe again, clean again, get the homeless help and off the streets. 📷ginarodriguez

Virginia: Just before yesterday, Chesterfield Fire and EMS crews responded to a call for a house fire in the 3000 block of Newquay Lane. The first firefighters that arrived on scene found smoke and fire coming from several sides of the home. They were able to get the fire under control in less than 30 minutes.

A Chesterfield Police officer was able to pull one person out of the home before firefighters arrived on scene. That person was transported to an area hospital to be treated for smoke inhalation. In addition, one Chesterfield Police officer was treated on scene for minor injuries, and one Chesterfield firefighter also suffered a non-life-threatening injury. Please join us in sending prayers and, or positive thoughts for their recovery🙏🏻

Three people are displaced as a result of the fire. The cause of the fire has been determined to be a propane torch that was being used as a heating source.
