DC has 543 cops per 100k people, more than all other big cities and more than double the rate in LA. And that’s before taking into account the National Guard, WMATA police, Park police, and dozens of other agencies.

UPDATE: Former Cincinnati Police Chief Teresa Theetge has filed an appeal of her firing and plans to challenge the decision through arbitration and lawsuits, her attorney said Friday.

Attorney Stephen Imm said the appeal seeks to overturn what he called an unlawful termination and to have the case reviewed quickly.

“We will be asking for the appeal to be heard as soon as reasonably possible, so that this grossly unfair and illegal action can be promptly reversed,” Imm said in a statement.
