MULTIPLE ARRESTS IN LEON COUNTY TX DRUG & THEFT INVESTIGATION 🚨
The Leon County Sheriff’s Office says a search warrant tied to a stolen property case led to several arrests and a major narcotics seizure this week in Normangee.
On April 22, deputies executed a warrant at a home in the 100 block of 8th Street, where some of the reported stolen items were recovered. While on scene, authorities say they also discovered and seized a significant amount of illegal drugs.
Seven people were arrested and taken to the Leon County Jail on various charges:
• Brandon Christopher Brooks
• Cristina Nicole Snow
• Alissa Jean Marberry
• Dustin Ty Currie
• Andrew Ray Henson
• John Alton Pool
Investigators say the case is still ongoing, and more charges could be filed.
The sheriff’s office also thanked the Texas Department of Public Safety and Normangee Police Department for assisting in the operation.
As always, all suspects are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.

NEW: 60 Illegal Aliens Interdicted off California Coast🚨
In recent days, Air and Marine Operations crews and our partners have interdicted three smuggling vessels off the coast of Southern California, apprehending 60 people. Some of the individuals have criminal histories for offenses including failure to yield, driving under the influence, felony hit-and-run, making false police reports, drug possession, active warrants for resisting arrest, trespassing, burglary, possession of burglary tools, receiving stolen property, drug trafficking, aggravated assault with a weapon, and domestic violence.
On April 17, an AMO aircrew detected a 24-foot vessel south of the maritime boundary line. AMO’s San Diego Marine Unit crews responded and interdicted the boat near San Clemente Island at about 2 p.m. They apprehended 13 people on board, including seven men, five women and one juvenile female. Agents took the individuals and the vessel to Ballast Point Naval Base for processing by U.S. Border Patrol.
The next day, on April 18, an AMO aircrew detected another vessel about 80 nautical miles southwest of Point Loma. AMO’s Long Beach Marine Unit crew, working with the U.S. Coast Guard Cutter Florence Finch, intercepted the boat near San Nicolas Island. They apprehended 29 Mexican nationals. The Coast Guard transported the individuals and the vessel to Newport Harbor to be turned over to the U.S. Border Patrol.
On April 21, the U.S. Coast Guard Cutter Terrel Horne, guided by an AMO aircrew, interdicted a 25-foot cuddy cabin first detected a day earlier off the coast of Ensenada, Mexico. The Coast Guard apprehended 18 Mexican nationals on board and transported them and the vessel for processing by U.S. Border Patrol.

Today we recognize and celebrate the retirement of two outstanding law enforcement officers who have faithfully served our community with dedication, integrity, and heart. Over the last several years, Officer Nathan Bradford and Officer Nathan Jones worked as Rural Resident Officers in the Overton resident section, building lasting relationships while serving the people of Logandale, Overton, Moapa, and Bunkerville.
In a role that goes far beyond traditional policing, they became trusted partners, problem-solvers, and a constant presence in the communities they served. Whether responding to calls for service, supporting local events, or simply taking the time to connect with residents, their impact has been felt across the Moapa Valley in meaningful and lasting ways.
Their commitment to service, professionalism, and genuine care for the community has set a standard that will not be forgotten. While they may be hanging up the uniform, their legacy will continue to live on in the relationships they’ve built and the lives they’ve touched.

A suspect who was already in custody- a robbery suspect being transported for medical observation- shot two Chicago Police officers inside Endeavor Health Swedish Hospital on the North Side this morning. One brave 38-year-old officer from the 17th District has been killed in the line of duty.
The second officer, age 57, is fighting for his life in critical condition. The suspect is now in custody.
This is the destruction of society staring us in the face - where even a detained criminal can disarm officers and open fire inside a hospital, where law enforcement puts their lives on the line every single day just to keep the rest of us safe, and where too many in our cities have zero respect for authority or human life anymore. Chicago’s streets and institutions are spiraling because we’ve let chaos replace order for far too long.
My deepest prayers go out to the fallen officer’s family, the critically injured officer and his family, and every member of the Chicago Police Department. May God wrap His arms around them in this unimaginable pain, give them strength, and bring justice. We owe our police everything - they run toward danger so we don’t have to. Enough is enough.

“Evacuate immediately” in accordance with Catron Sheriff and Catron County Emergency Management.
The fire was last updated and 2,017 acres with active spotting of 1/2 mile.
Closures: A Forest Closure Order is issued for the Hummingbird Fire on the Gila National Forest.
Safety: Hikers traveling on the Continental Divide Trail (CDT) are being asked to travel through Aeroplan Mesa and not proceed to the West.

Please, praying for the Franklin County Sheriff's Deputy who was seriously injured in the line of duty overnight.🙏🏻
A sheriff's deputy was injured after being dragged by a vehicle he had stopped for a speeding violation on Friday night in northern Vermont.
Vermont State Police said they responded around 8:18 p.m. to Route 104 in Fairfax. Preliminary investigation determined that a Franklin County Sheriff's Deputy had stopped a Chevrolet pickup truck for a speeding violation.
The deputy approached the vehicle and spoke with the driver, and then returned to his cruiser.
At this point, the pickup truck began to move, and the deputy approached the vehicle and ordered the driver to turn off the engine and get out of the truck.
The driver did not comploy, instead fleeing south on Route 104 and dragging the deputy, who was holding onto the front door of the truck. The driver then hit the brakes, throwing the deputy from the truck and driving away from the scene.
A bystander witnessed the incident and called 911. Fairfax Rescue responded to the scene and rushed the deputy to the University of Vermont Medical Center in Burlington. The deputy sustained serious bodily injury and was reported to be in critical condition on Saturday morning.
