Deputy Heather Avery with the Jefferson County Constableβs Office Pct. 1 was killed in an automobile crash this morning.
A life of service cut short. A family, an agency, and a community now carrying the weight of this loss.
"There are no words that you can say or give to bring comfort to those who loved Deputy Heather Avery," said Precinct 1 Constable Jevonne Pollard. "I am heartbroken over this loss and join in mourning with her family and loved ones. Although Deputy Avery was a reserve, she relished her role in my office as a firearms expert. My deepest condolences go to her husband, Troy, and her family."
An off-duty reserve deputy constable for Jefferson County has died in a Chambers County collision, caused when an 18-wheeler crashed into the reserve deputy constable's SUV while she was doing traffic control in a work zone, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.

Deportation is still on track. We havenβt slowed down because the One Big Beautiful Bill contained funding for ICE and Border Patrol. But our homeland security could be compromised because our adversaries know weβre shut down.

22 people inside a sleeper cabβincluding 2 unaccompanied minors π
Agents and Laredo PD stopped a human smuggler on Highway 35 and discovered 22 illegal aliens packed inside the cab: 19 from Mexico, 1 from Guatemala, and 2 unaccompanied minors from Mexico. The driver, a U.S. citizen, is facing alien smuggling charges.
This is the grim reality of human smugglingβpeople crammed into unsafe spaces, with no regard for their safety. We continue to target, arrest, and prosecute human smugglers to the fullest extent of the law.

So appreciative of the staff at Memorial Herman Hospital Med Center, who took such good care of Dep. Affify! While he did sustain injuries from an auto accident last night , I am so thankful he was able to leave the hospital & heal at home surrounded by his loving family. Get well soon!!

Police Chief Fired, Your Thoughts?
Cincinnati Police Department, Ohioβs now-former police chief, Teresa Theetge, is out after just three years leading the department. The move comes after a turbulent tenure, she was previously sued by subordinates over alleged discrimination against male officers and reportedly βbeggedβ to put more officers on the streets during a crime-filled summer. Despite a 35-year career with the department, her time as chief has come to an abrupt end. And many, would say she never was qualified to be the Chief. π
