Police responded to four more homes overnight as burglars continued a weekslong series of break-ins across the Los Angeles area Tuesday night.

NEW: The Anderson County Deputy who was shot Monday in the line of duty is expected to recover - and is 'eager' to get back to work!

Anderson County Sheriff Chad McBride says the Master Deputy who was shot yesterday, and airlifted to Greenville Memorial, is doing well. The sheriff said he’s in great spirits. We’re told he was shot near the armpit and the bullet exited through his back. Sheriff McBride praised the deputy with him for saving his life.

The sheriff called it nothing short of a miracle that the deputy survived. The sheriff’s office said they proudly serve the community & asked for continued support.

“Continue the prayers, Sheriff McBride asked. “I’ve talked to so many people that say, ‘Hey, we have y’all in our prayers daily.’ I would ask people, if you haven’t considered putting us on your prayer list daily, put us on your prayer list daily. It’s a crazy world.”🙏🏻
