BREAKING: Two people, including one child, were killed in a shooting Monday afternoon at the Elko Regional Airport in Nevada.

The Elko Police Department reported Monday afternoon that the airport was closed to all traffic as they investigated a "crime scene," but they did not initially specify what happened.

Police later confirmed there was an active shooter situation around 12:30 p.m., which resulted in two deaths from gunshot wounds. One of the people killed was a minor, and they believe the other was the suspect. The relationship between the two has not yet been confirmed.

Police said they have found the suspect and there is no threat to the community.

Officer Triplett passed away Wednesday, April 1, after experiencing a medical emergency during a training exercise. Officer Triplett faithfully served the citizens of St. Louis and the SLMPD for nearly 32 years.
