In a stunning and deeply troubling move, Assembly member Stephanie Nguyen and Sac DA Thien Ho agreed to amend AB 2727 to allow SERIAL RAPISTS and CHILD PREDATORS to qualify for “elderly parole” at age 65…even when sentenced by a judge to life in prison.

Let that sink in.

These are not low-level offenders. These are the worst of the worst—repeat predators who terrorized multiple victims.

👉 People like David Funston…who was sentenced to THREE life terms and readily admits he’s still sexually attracted to children.
👉 People like Roy Waller-the NorCal rapist who terrorized countless women for years and was sentenced to 800+years to LIFE.

Under this amendment, predators like these get a shot at release—simply because they got older.

David Funston was released at 64. Do we all feel safer from this pedophile simply by waiting til he’s 65?

⚠️ Age does NOT erase predatory behavior.
⚠️ Time does NOT undo the trauma inflicted on victims.
⚠️ And the public should NOT be forced to take that risk.

This is exactly what’s broken about California’s parole system:

West Sumner Avenue & Divison Street: Caller says a male was shooting from inside another residence at another male and he was shot in the back of the neck.

This is a confirmed shooting, victim awake and breathing. Graze wound. More shots are being fired. SWAT requested.

BREAKING: A hazardous chemical explosion at Aspen Aerogels, on Dexter Rd,  has injured more than a dozen people, in East Providence, RI. This is a Mass Casualty Incident (MCI)

Everyone has been removed the building, as patients continue to be triaged as of this writing.

The incident has prompted a large response from multiple fire departments and multiple ambulances in the surrounding area as multiple victims are being transported to area hospitals.

UPDATE: EAST PROVIDENCE — Mayor Roberto DaSilva, Police Chief Michael J. Rapoza and Fire Chief Michael Carey report that East Providence police, fire and emergency medical services units, with the assistance of surrounding communities in Rhode Island and Massachusetts, are working at the scene of an apparent explosion at an industrial plant in the city.

A mass casualty incident has been declared, which activates mutual aid services from throughout the region and puts hospitals on notice in the region.

At this time, East Providence and mutual aid ambulances have transported 13 people to a nearby hospital. At this time, there are no reports of major injuries.

East Providence Police and Fire responded at 8:14 p.m. to the Aspen Aerogels facility located at 3 Dexter Road for a report of an explosion and fire inside the facility.

The Office of the State Fire Marshal has been notified and responded.

Mutual aid is being provided by several agencies including the Central Falls, Cranston, Lincoln, Pawtucket, Providence Seekonk, Mass. and Smithfield Fire Departments.
