JUST IN: Dog killed after biting LAPD officer during Sun Valley stop.

A Los Angeles police officer fatally shot a dog after being bitten during a vehicle search in the Sun Valley neighborhood early Monday morning, authorities said.

One officer was injured and transported to a local hospital for a dog bite. The officer is in stable condition.

A fugitive sex offender wanted in Nevada is back in custody following a joint effort between the Nevada State Police Parole and Probation Warrants and Extraditions Unit and the U.S. Marshals Service.
Preston Jakes was arrested in Long Beach, California, after absconding from supervision in 2022. He has since been extradited back to Nevada and is now in custody.

Los Angeles: On March 7, 2026, around 11:15 p.m., officers assigned to Southeast Patrol Division responded to a radio call of a Robbery in Progress at a convenience store located at 15300 South Figueroa Street.

Upon arrival, the officers observed the suspect, later identified as 53-year-old Cynthia Anne Ivie Akers, standing behind the convenience store’s front counter. The officers issued multiple verbal commands to gain Akers’ compliance; however, those commands were disregarded. Akers then suddenly moved toward the counter, removed a handgun from a zippered bag, and pointed it in the direction of the officers, resulting in an Officer-Involved Shooting .

Akers was struck by gunfire and subsequently taken into custody. The officers immediately rendered medical aid and requested the response of the Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD). LAFD personnel responded to the scene and pronounced Akers deceased.

The investigation later determined that the weapon in Akers’ possession was a pellet gun. The item was recovered at the scene and booked as evidence.

No officers or additional community members were injured during the incident.

Force Investigation Division (FID) personnel responded and assumed investigative responsibility.

Florida: A driver was arrested after a pickup truck collided with a Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office cruiser that was blocking a road for a fatal crash investigation. The deputy inside the vehicle suffered minor injuries during the crash in Northwest Miami-Dade.

The collision occurred Saturday at the intersection of Northwest 135th Street and Northwest 47th Avenue. Deputies were originally at the scene investigating a separate fiery fatal crash and had positioned the cruiser to block traffic from the area.

The pickup truck struck the cruiser while it was stationary, causing visible damage to the patrol vehicle. Other deputies on the scene shifted their attention to the pickup driver to investigate the cause of the second collision.

Law enforcement officers conducted field sobriety tests on the driver at the intersection. Following the tests, the driver was placed under arrest and taken into custody.

Afshar is an supporter of the Iranian regime, has celebrated Iranian attacks on Americans AND called our nation the “Great Satan.”

Our country is not a home for foreign nationals who support ANTI-AMERICAN terrorist regimes. If we have reason to believe a green card holder poses a threat to the U.S., their green card will be revoked.

President Trump says somebody leaked to a media outlet that the first F-15E pilot had been rescued but that the US military was looking for a second crew member. He says Iran didn't know that at the time, and his admin will go to the media outlet who reported it try to force them to disclose their source in the interest of national security or "go to jail".
