DEVELOPING: An American Airlines flight from New York to Chicago (AA2819) was diverted to Detroit Metro Airport on Sunday, where the plane was isolated, according to Metro Detroit News.

In a statement, an FBI Detroit spokesperson said: “I can confirm that personnel from the FBI in Michigan are present (March 29, 2026) at DTW Airport, located in Romulus, Michigan, conducting law enforcement activities. There is no current threat to the public at this time.”

Florida: A 25-year-old man has bonded out of jail, and a Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office deputy has been released from the hospital, after a fleeing car came to a crashing stop in Southwest Miami-Dade, leading deputies to take the young driver into custody.
MDSO and Miami-Dade Fire Rescue units responded to the scene of the crash along Southwest 115th Avenue and 224th Street, Thursday afternoon.
According to deputies, they attempted a traffic stop on 25-year-old Tyriq Levar Lee’s vehicle but he fled from detectives. During his attempted escape, Lee blew through a stop sign and crashed into a detective.
One of the cars overturned after plowing through a fence due to the crash.

Deputies quickly took Lee into custody and paramedics rushed the deputy to Jackson South Medical Center in stable condition.

The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department mourns the loss of Deputy Levi Vargas, who passed away on Saturday, March 28, 2026, at the age of 30.

Deputy Vargas joined the Department in 2015 as a Custody Assistant and later graduated from Academy Class 413. He served in several assignments throughout his career, most recently at San Dimas Station. He was known among his colleagues and friends for his professionalism, commitment, and compassion to our communities.

His loss is deeply felt across our Department, and he will be greatly missed.

Deputy Vargas is survived by his wife, parents, siblings, and extended family.

We honor his service and legacy. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family, friends, and colleagues during this incredibly difficult time.🙏🏻
