NEW: All officers with the Sardinia Police Department, Ohio have been placed on administrative leave pending the outcome of an investigation.
The city posted the announcement to its website on Thursday but didn’t offer many specific details about the investigation.
“This has been done to maintain the integrity of the investigative process and to maintain public trust and transparency,” the statement said in part.

NEW DETAILS: A high-speed chase across three jurisdictions ended in multiple crashes, leaving a DC officer, a Virginia trooper, and a civilian injured.
Shortly after 3:30 a.m. on Thursday, March 26, officers in Prince George's County located and attempted to stop the Winterville, North Carolina native, though he again refused to stop and sped away, prompting a pursuit that crossed the Woodrow Wilson Bridge into Virginia.
Virginia State Troopers then joined the pursuit after it crossed the bridge, and it continued onto the southbound lanes of I-495, where Mayo struck an uninvolved vehicle that had moved to the left shoulder to yield to the pursuit.
Mayo then crossed the interstate and struck a Virginia State Police vehicle.
The trooper suffered minor injuries but was not transported to an area hospital. The uninvolved motorist who was struck was transported to an area hospital. Please, pray for all involved.🙏🏻
