A Nevada State Police trooper was injured after a wrong-way driver crashed into a patrol car on I-80 near downtown Reno, according to authorities investigating the collision.

The crash happened just after 9:15 p.m. on I-80 east, just east of Virginia Street.
NHP says a preliminary investigation shows that the unidentified trooper was heading east when a woman driving a Subaru crashed into the trooper's patrol car.
Both drivers were transported to a local area hospital with reportedly non-life-threatening injuries.

A tragic loss out of Louisiana.

27 year old Tyler Grezaffi, a former Pointe Coupee Parish deputy who was working at the Louisiana State Penitentiary, has died following a crash on Angola grounds.

According to reports, her vehicle went off the roadway and into a ditch filled with water around 4:30 p.m. Authorities reportedly had difficulty locating her at first since she was off the road, and she was not found for about an hour until a deputy physically searched the area.

Grezaffi was the daughter of Sgt. Scott Grezaffi and had followed in her father’s footsteps into law enforcement.

Those who knew her describe her as someone who brought light to everyone around her and left a lasting impact on her department and community.

911 dispatchers receive all kinds of calls for help during their shifts, but one call taken this week by Brazos County 911 dispatcher Anthony Williams really stands out.

On Wednesday morning, Anthony Williams answered a call for help from a Bryan ISD student who said she had missed her bus to school and was asking for help to get there.

The child’s mother was already at work, and her brother’s car wasn’t working, but she was still hoping to find a ride to school.

NEW: A police officer was injured and their vehicle was struck while responding to a possible car carrier scam in Greenwich, Connecticut.

Police became aware of a possible car carrier scam around 1:20 p.m.
Officers who were attempting to stop the incident responded to the Byram section of town.
Police say the suspect arrived in the area around 3 p.m. and undercover officers identified themselves so they could make an arrest.
Officers tried to stop the suspect's vehicle. However, the vehicle left the scene after officers were almost struck.
Shortly after that, the vehicle did hit a marked patrol vehicle while trying to further evade police.
The officer in the vehicle was injured and evaluated. The extent of his injuries is not known.

NEW: Two Los Angeles County deputies have been taken to the hospital following a traffic collision Thursday afternoon, according to the sheriff.

Police have not confirmed what type of call the deputies were responding to or if they had their lights and sirens on at the time of the crash.

The two deputies – only identified as a man and woman — have been transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, according to the sheriff.
