Karoline Leavitt: "POTUS is speaking with our allies in Europe, and also many of our partners in the Gulf and Arab world to encourage them to step up to do more to open the Strait of Hormuz β and our NATO allies especially need to step up... The United States of America is leading way not just to support and protect our American assets and bases in the Middle East, but also to defend Europe, and the Middle East, and the rest of the world from the rogue Iranian regime obtaining a nuclear bomb."
"President Trump has been on the side of the American people in this fight since Day One. He has consistently called on Democrats on Capitol Hill to do the right thing and fund DHS. That's all weβre asking for."
PressSec: "I don't think the meeting is in jeopardy, but it's quite possible the meeting could be delayed... I know President Xi was very excited to welcome POTUS to Beijing, and I know POTUS looks forward to this trip. It's really just a matter of the timing."
"The President has made it very clear. He wants that bill on his desk here at the White House as soon as possible," says PressSec on the SAVE America Act.
"It is five of the most common sense proposals that any Party has ever put forward, and the American people overwhelmingly support this bill."
PressSec says POTUS and VP will formally launch their task force against fraud later this afternoon.
"This is another promise made, and kept by POTUS... this really going to establish a whole-of-government effort to fight fraud at both the state and federal level."

The bomb cyclone that struck Michigan on March 15, 2026, was a "triple-threat" megastorm that caused widespread power outages, impossible travel conditions, and a state of emergency.
Storm Impacts in Michigan
Widespread Power Outages: Over 124,000 customers in Michigan lost power as of March 16 due to vicious wind gusts and heavy precipitation.
Extreme Snowfall: The Upper Peninsula (UP) was hit hardest, with forecasts of 1β4 feet of additional snow on top of an already deep snowpack.
Dangerous Winds: Hurricane-force wind gusts were reported over Northern Lake Michigan and across the UP as the storm's center tracked over Traverse City.
Varied Conditions by Region:
Upper Peninsula: Life-threatening blizzard conditions with whiteouts.
Northern Lower Peninsula: Heavy ice storm and freezing rain.
Southern Lower Peninsula: Severe thunderstorms and damaging winds.
State Emergency: Governor Gretchen Whitmer activated the State Emergency Operations Center to monitor and respond to the significant weather threats.
Regional & Travel Disruptions
Flight Cancellations: Major Midwest hubs faced major disruptions; FlightAware reported nearly 2,000 flight cancellations and thousands of delays across the U.S. by Sunday evening.
Road Hazards: Transportation officials in Michigan warned of impossible driving conditions and low visibility.
Broader Reach: The storm system was part of a larger "megastorm" impacting nearly 200 million people, bringing everything from tornadoes in the south to blizzards in the Great Lakes.
Understanding "Bombogenesis"
This storm was classified as a bomb cyclone because it underwent bombogenesis, a process where a low-pressure system's central pressure drops at least 24 millibars within 24 hours, leading to rapid and extreme intensification.

Susie Wiles is an incredible Chief of Staff, a great person, and one of the strongest people I know but, unfortunately, she has been diagnosed with early stage breast cancer, and has decided to take on this challenge, IMMEDIATELY, as opposed to waiting. She has a fantastic medical team, and her prognosis is excellent! During the treatment period, she will be spending virtually full time at the White House, which makes me, as President, very happy! Her Strength and her Commitment to continue doing the job she loves, and does so well, while undergoing treatment, tells you everything you need to know about her. Susie, as one of my closest and most important advisors, is tough and deeply committed to serving the American People. She will soon be better than ever! Melania and I are with her in every way, and we look forward to working with Susie on the many big and wonderful things that are happening for the benefit of our Country! President DONALD J. TRUMP

WATCH LIVE: The president speaks to reporters ahead of a lunch with board members of the Trump Kennedy Center.
POTUS says that since Operation Epic Fury began:
β 7,000 targets struck
β 90% reduction in ballistic missile launches
β 95% reduction in drone attacks
β 100+ Iranian naval vessels sunk or destroyed
We attacked Kharg Island and literally destroyed everything on the island except the area where the oil is. We left the pipes. We didn't want to do that, but we could do that on 5 minutes notice. But for purposes of someday rebuilding Iran, we did the right thing.
POTUS on the Strait of Hormuz: "We strongly encourage other nations whose economies depend on the strait, far more than ours... we want them to come and help us with the strait."
POTUS on the Strait of Hormuz: "We strongly encourage other nations whose economies depend on the strait, far more than ours... we want them to come and help us with the strait."
POTUS meets with Kencen Board Members: "Over the past year, weβve made incredible strides to restore the true purpose and prestige of this revered institution. Together, weβre going to ensure it remains the finest performing arts facility of its kind anywhere in the world."
POTUS: "We got rid of the gold columns, which looked always terrible. They looked cheap and they looked fake β very much like the media, actually." π
POTUS on Susie Wiles: "She's an amazing person, an amazing fighter... she had a diagnosis, you probably saw, and she's going to take care of it immediately... she's going to be in great shape." πβ€οΈ
POTUS: "We don't need anybody. We're the strongest nation in the world. We have the strongest military, by far, in the world."
Reporter: Have you been speaking with President Macron about the coalition to reopen the Strait of Hormuz?
POTUS: "Yeah, I have spoken to him. He's been, on a scale of 0-10, I'd say he's been an 8. Not perfect β but it's France."
POTUS on Iran: They want to make a deal. They're talking to our people. I don't know if they say that to you. Don't forget, they're a country based on disinformation. And now, they're using disinformation and AI. They showed all sorts of things happening in the last 2 weeks that never happened, between their kamikaze boats that don't exist, between blowing up the aircraft carrier, etc.
POTUS on Mojtaba Khamenei: "A lot of people are saying that he's badly disfigured. Theyβre saying that he lost his leg... Other people are saying he's dead. Nobody is saying heβs 100% healthy, and he hasnβt hasnβt spoken..."
POTUS: "When this is over, oil prices are going to go down very, very rapidly."

The South Carolina Fraternal Order of Police is continuing to push for legislation that would increase penalties for anyone who kills or injures a law enforcement K9.
Officers and their K9 partners recently gathered at the South Carolina State House to support the bill, which would raise penalties for killing a police dog from the current range of one to five years in prison to two to ten years, along with higher fines and restitution for the cost of the animal.
K9s are not equipment. They are partners who protect officers and communities every day.
The South Carolina FOP is doing its part to push this legislation forward and ensure these partners receive the protections they deserve.
