Moments ago, at my direction, the United States Central Command executed one of the most powerful bombing raids in the History of the Middle East, and totally obliterated every MILITARY target in Iran’s crown jewel, Kharg Island. Our Weapons are the most powerful and sophisticated that the World has ever known but, for reasons of decency, I have chosen NOT to wipe out the Oil Infrastructure on the Island. However, should Iran, or anyone else, do anything to interfere with the Free and Safe Passage of Ships through the Strait of Hormuz, I will immediately reconsider this decision. Texas: An El Paso police officer was injured and taken to a hospital after being assaulted while investigating a reported theft at Cielo Vista Mall on Thursday, police officials said.

The officer, a seven-year veteran of the El Paso Police Department, was alerted by a mall employee about two suspects who had committed a theft.

When the officer attempted to detain them, both suspects resisted and assaulted the officer during a struggle, according to police.

The officer sustained injuries and was transported to a local hospital for treatment.

NEW: A man shot and killed by Dallas police earlier this week was a familiar figure in North Texas law enforcement – and part of the security detail for U.S. Rep. Jasmine Crockett. Multiple law enforcement sources tell CBS News Texas the man, known publicly as Mike King, had been using aliases while running a business that placed officers in off‑duty jobs.
