DEVELOPING: Numerous bomb threats & active-shooter scares have been reported across the U.S. today.

Schools and colleges in multiple states were evacuated or locked down, even a zoo in Miami received a bomb threat this afternoon. So far, many incidents appear to be hoaxes / swatting-related.

NEW: Fairfax County parents tell me their girls were groped in between their legs front to back during school by an adult male student who happens to be an illegal immigrant and that this has been happening the entire school year. 

Parents are livid at Fairfax County Public Schools.

Today, Steve Descano’s prosecutor Jenna Sands agreed to release the suspect from jail.  The judge said no.

ICE lodged a detainer.  ICE says Fairfax County Sheriff Stacey Kincaid isn’t honoring their detainer.

BREAKING: A federal jury just convicted nine violent extremists for the July 4 attack on an ICE detention center in Texas. They ambushed law enforcement, shot an officer in the neck, and thought they’d get away with it.

BREAKING: The U.S. Marshals Service (USMS) Central District of California and the Riverside County Sheriff’s Anti-Human Trafficking Task Force (RCAHT) in partnership with various other agencies, conducted a weeklong child recovery operation dubbed Operation Safe Return that led to the recovery or safe location of 37 children and seven arrests, including a significant federal arrest connected to child sex trafficking, underscoring the serious nature of the threats faced by vulnerable youth.

Throughout the operation, over 50 children aged 14 to 17 were identified as missing within Riverside County, with additional cases located in neighboring regions such as San Bernardino, Orange, and Los Angeles Counties, as well as further afield in northern California, Arizona, and Nevada.

Arizona: An officer with the Phoenix Police Department was injured in a multivehicle collision on Thursday night, authorities said.

The officer was driving a patrol car to respond to a call when the collision with two other vehicles occurred near Seventh Street and Indian School Road shortly before 10 p.m., police said.

The officer and a man driving another vehicle were taken to a hospital for injuries police said were not life-threatening.

Texas: An El Paso police officer was injured and taken to a hospital after being assaulted while investigating a reported theft at Cielo Vista Mall on Thursday, police officials said.

The officer, a seven-year veteran of the El Paso Police Department, was alerted by a mall employee about two suspects who had committed a theft.

When the officer attempted to detain them, both suspects resisted and assaulted the officer during a struggle, according to police.

The officer sustained injuries and was transported to a local hospital for treatment.

NEW: A man shot and killed by Dallas police earlier this week was a familiar figure in North Texas law enforcement – and part of the security detail for U.S. Rep. Jasmine Crockett. Multiple law enforcement sources tell CBS News Texas the man, known publicly as Mike King, had been using aliases while running a business that placed officers in off‑duty jobs.
