BREAKING: Shots fired near the Del Rio Border Patrol checkpoint off 277—Sources tell me a human smuggler blew through the checkpoint late last night as they were attempting to transport several illegal immigrants into the country—6 occupants bailed from the vehicle into the brush after a chase ensued. At least one shot was fired, moments later one of the subjects was found with a self-inflicted gunshot wound. The driver and the illegal immigrants are currently in custody. No shots were fired by agents. No agents were hurt in the incident.

This is the second time agents have taken on fire at a checkpoint in the last two weeks. On March 4th, a car ran the Sierra Blanca Border Patrol checkpoint—Shots were exchanged and the driver died.

Six months after Charlie Kirk was assassinated, his alleged killer Tyler Robinson has attended multiple hearings but has yet to enter a plea.  In a Utah County court right now his defense team just signaled they may need to delay the May preliminary hearing because they claim they haven't received fundamental data from the Feds yet, Matt Finn reports.

A South Carolina trooper is being hailed a hero after putting his life on the line to stop a chase and prevent others from being injured.

SCHP Lance Corporal R.A. Lee, Troop 4, Post C, was named the statewide 2025 Trooper of the Year for his actions last summer.

On July 8, 2025, authorities were chasing a stolen vehicle from Charlotte when the vehicle started to drive the wrong way on Interstate 77 in Chester County.

L/Cpl. Lee intentionally put his patrol vehicle in the path of the stolen car, causing the rough car to hit the back of his cruiser, ending the chase.

According to the New York State Correctional Officers & Police Benevolent Association, Inc. (NYSCOPBA), three correctional officers were injured in separate incidents at Greene Correctional Facility, with a fourth officer hurt while responding to one of the events.

The first attack on Feb. 20 involved an inmate shoving an officer into a door. The officer regained control and subdued the inmate, who was then moved to the Special Housing Unit. The officer sustained injuries but remained on duty.

On Feb. 24, another officer was attacked during a pat frisk. The inmate punched the officer, causing facial swelling and knee abrasions. The officer sought further medical care, and the inmate was transferred to Coxsackie Correctional Facility.

In the last incident on March 1, an inmate attempted to kiss a female officer, who defended herself and called for backup. She suffered shoulder and elbow injuries but stayed on duty.

Trump Tax Cuts Boost Income, Savings

Trump-era tax cuts boosted Americans’ disposable income by 0.9% in January 2026, with the personal saving rate rising to 4.5% as consumers spent cautiously. The cuts, effective via new withholding tables in January, included deductions for tipped workers, overtime, car loans, and seniors. While real personal income rose 0.4%, spending on goods declined and inflation, as measured by the core PCE index, remained above the Fed’s 2% target at 3.1% year-over-year.
