Florida: A Collier County Sheriff’s Office deputy and two additional occupants have been injured after a two-vehicle crash involving an SUV and an unmarked CCSO vehicle near 1921 Davis Boulevard in Naples.

Greater Naples Fire, Naples Fire Rescue and Collier County EMS crews responded to the incident at 10:38 PM Wednesday night.

The approximately 35-year-old male deputy was transported with minor injuries to NCH Baker Hospital.

Two additional occupants, an approximately 16-year-old female driver and approximately 17-year-old male passenger from the other vehicle involved were transported with minor injuries to NCH North Hospital.

We have some amazing news regarding Deputy Sheriff Austin Rhodes. While his road to recovery is still a path that lies ahead, we are grateful to report that he has been released from the hospital and is now home continuing his recovery.

As the Okeechobee County Sheriff’s Office family rejoices in this milestone, we recognize that Austin still has a long road ahead. Through his determination, and through God’s healing working through the hands of the incredible medical professionals who cared for him, both on scene, in flight, and at the hospital, he has reached this important step. That care now continues through outpatient treatment as he rests and regains strength at home.

This is a heartfelt welcome home to Austin and a sincere thank you to our Okeechobee community, along with the many people from across the country and around the world who have lifted Austin up in prayer and sent their well wishes for his recovery.

Your support, faith, and encouragement have meant more than words can express.

BREAKING: Major Crash Shuts Down U.S. Highway 80 in Kaufman County, Texas.

"At approximately 7:50 a.m. Thursday morning, emergency crews responded to a multi-vehicle crash involving an 18-wheeler along the U.S. Highway 80 service road near Townsend Road in Kaufman County.

The incident occurred outside the City of Forney limits, but the Forney Police Department is assisting alongside fire and emergency personnel at the scene. The crash involved multiple vehicles, including an 18-wheeler that caught fire.

Eastbound U.S. Highway 80 is currently shut down at Gateway Blvd to allow emergency crews to work safely and manage the scene. Motorists traveling eastbound should expect delays and are encouraged to seek alternate routes if possible.

Because the crash occurred outside of city limits, the Kaufman County Sheriff’s Office will be leading the investigation. There are no further details available at this time."

NEW: On March 12, USS Gerald R. Ford (CVN 78) experienced a fire that originated in the ship’s main laundry spaces. The cause of the fire was not combat-related and is contained.

There is no damage to the ship’s propulsion plant, and the aircraft carrier remains fully operational.

Two Sailors are currently receiving medical treatment for non-life-threatening injuries and are in stable condition. Additional information will be provided when available.

The Gerald R. Ford Carrier Strike Group is currently operating in the Red Sea in support of Operation Epic Fury.
