DEVELOPING: A Baltimore police officer was shot Tuesday in Northwest Baltimore and transported to the Maryland Shock Trauma, according to police radio transmissions.

The shooting was reported in the 6200 block of Park Heights Avenue. The officer’s condition was not immediately known. Baltimore County medics also responded to assist at the scene.

Radio traffic indicated a “Signal 13” — a police call indicating an officer in distress — had been transmitted. Officers had reportedly been responding to a possible hostage situation before shots were fired.

NEW: Los Angeles ERO arrested Javier Arreguin-Aguirre, 42, of Mexico, Feb. 27. Arreguin is a registered sex offender and has previous convictions for oral copulation by force with a minor under 14. He is in ICE custody pending removal.

Prayers for the Woodridge Police Officer who was injured in the line of duty this morning.🙏🏻

Illinois: "At approximately 8:23 a.m. today, Woodridge Police Officers responded to a report of a retail theft at Target, located at 2333 63rd St. in Woodridge.

While officers were attempting to take the suspect into custody, the individual resisted arrest and used a vehicle to strike one of the responding officers before fleeing the scene.

The injured officer was transported to a local hospital. At this time, the officer’s injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
This incident remains under investigation. There is currently no risk to the public.
