NEW: Numerous agencies and first responders were on the scene of a barge fire in the Delaware Bay on Tuesday.

Emergency crews are responding to the Delaware River near Collins Beach in Kent County Tuesday morning following reports of a vessel on fire.

Reports indicate that a scrap barge measuring approximately 20 x 20 feet caught fire on the river.

DEVELOPING: A Baltimore police officer was shot Tuesday in Northwest Baltimore and transported to the Maryland Shock Trauma, according to police radio transmissions.

The shooting was reported in the 6200 block of Park Heights Avenue. The officer’s condition was not immediately known. Baltimore County medics also responded to assist at the scene.

Radio traffic indicated a “Signal 13” — a police call indicating an officer in distress — had been transmitted. Officers had reportedly been responding to a possible hostage situation before shots were fired.

NEW: Los Angeles ERO arrested Javier Arreguin-Aguirre, 42, of Mexico, Feb. 27. Arreguin is a registered sex offender and has previous convictions for oral copulation by force with a minor under 14. He is in ICE custody pending removal.
