An update on yesterday’s incident in New York near Gracie Mansion:

Two subjects were arrested on scene yesterday and remain in custody.

FBI’s Joint Terrorism Task Force is investigating the matter with our partners at NYPD as well as the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York.

Preliminary analysis confirms one of the devices ignited and deployed by the subjects was an IED explosive. Tests remain ongoing for other devices.

We will continue to update the public as able. Thank you to the brave law enforcement officers who took quick action and responded to what could’ve been a deadly attack.

On March 8, at the direction of SOUTHCOM commander Gen. Francis L. Donovan, Joint Task Force Southern Spear conducted a lethal kinetic strike on a vessel operated by Designated Terrorist Organizations. Intelligence confirmed the vessel was transiting along known narco-trafficking routes in the Eastern Pacific and was engaged in narco-trafficking operations. A Pennsylvania state trooper was shot in West Caln Township, Chester County, and taken to the hospital Sunday night.

The shooting happened around 8:30 p.m. near Compass and Michael roads in the township. The trooper is being treated at Paoli Hospital.

Chester County Commissioner Eric Roe posted a prayer request for the trooper to Facebook. He said the officer was responding to a traffic stop when the shooting happened.

“I thank all of them for their extraordinary bravery and sacrifice. May God save this state trooper,” he wrote.

Family and friends remember Sacramento soldier killed in Iran strike.

Chief Warrant Officer Three Robert Marzan, 54, a Sacramento native and Elk Grove High School graduate, was one of six U.S. Army Reservists killed during Iran’s initial retaliation against U.S. forces at a command center in Kuwait. Marzan’s passing has left an indelible mark on family, friends, and the Sacramento community, where he was raised and spent his formative years.
