WATCH: Christian County sheriff addresses investigation into deaths of 2 deputies.

Again and Again...🀬🀬🀬

On February 23, at 3:53 p.m., 30-year-old Deputy Gabriel Ramirez, of the Christian County, Missouri Sheriff's Office was murdered following a "routine" traffic stop.

Christian County dispatch received 911 calls of a deputy down in the street.  Responding officers found Deputy Gabriel in the roadway, dead from gunshot wounds. Witnesses gave a description of the shooter and his vehicle.  Officers found the suspect vehicle abandoned in the nearby woods.

After an 11-hour manhunt, officers sighted 45-year-old Richard Dean Bird in a heavily wooded area. Bird opened fire on the approaching officers with a rifle, shooting Deputy Joshua Bell, who sustained a debilitating gunshot wound to the leg, and Webster County Deputy Austin McCall who was shot four times.  Law enforcement faced continued gunfire from Byrd, preventing immediate rescue of the wounded deputies.  During one of the rescue attempts, 40-year-old Christian County Deputy Michael Hyslope was shot and killed.

During the 30 minute gunbattle, Bird was eventually shot & killed.  He had a long criminal history of burglary and auto theft.  On Fri., February 20th, 2026, just three days before murdering these deputies, Bird was arrested again for burglary and possession of a firearm, he posted $50,000 bond and was released pending trial!

In 2016 Bird was found guilty of shooting a rifle at a deputy sheriff.  He pleaded guilty to a lesser offence and was released from prison in 2023.  Less than a year later, he was arrested burglarizing an occupied home, and was found with gloves, a flashlight and a knife. He was convicted and fined $200 + court costs!?!?

Both Deputies Ramirez and Hyslope served overseas in the US Army and were combat veterans.

Texas DPS Disrupts Human Smuggling Attempt β€” PIT Ends High-Speed Pursuit

On 2/19/26, a TxDPS Trooper attempted to stop a white Mazda 3 on FM 1472 in Webb County. The driver fled, leading troopers on a high-speed pursuit.

Troopers safely executed a PIT maneuver, bringing the pursuit to an end.

The driver, a 16-year-old, and passenger Juan Francisco Torres of Laredo were arrested and charged with five counts of smuggling of persons and evading arrest.

Five illegal immigrants were apprehended and turned over to the U.S. Border Patrol.

This is our why.

Last night, President Trump recognized Jacqueline Medina, the mother of 16-year-old cheerleader Lizbeth Medina who was stabbed to death in 2023 by an illegal alien who never should have been in our country.

We’re committed to standing with families like the Medinas, ensuring all public safety threats are removed from our communities, and protecting American citizens.

Congratulations to Lieutenants Courtney Bartilson and Juan Hidalgo on their well-earned retirements from the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office.

Both were assigned to our Centralized Investigations Division, as the Assistant Commander and Operations Commander, respectively, where their leadership and experience made a lasting impact.

Lieutenant Bartilson served the Sheriff’s Office for more than 21 years. He worked as a gang detective and a homicide detective, investigating some of the most serious crimes in our community, before eventually rising to oversee the Homicide Unit and other investigative teams.

Lieutenant Hidalgo dedicated over 27 years of service to this profession. He spent years as a detective in the ICAC (Internet Crimes Against Children) Unit, working tirelessly to protect children from online exploitation, and ultimately took over as the ICAC Commander.

Congratulations, Lieutenants, and thank you for your decades of service to Sacramento County! Well done Brother! πŸ’™

NEW: The FBI subpoenaed Kash Patel's and Susie Wiles' phone records in 2022 and 2023, when both were private citizens and as part of a federal probe into President Trump, Fox News has confirmed.

In a statement to Fox News, Patel called the move "outrageous and deeply alarming."

"It is outrageous and deeply alarming that the previous FBI leadership secretly subpoenaed my own phone records – along with those of now White House Chief of Staff Susie Wiles – using flimsy pretexts and burying the entire process in prohibited case files designed to evade all oversight," he said.

Colorado: A fire in Thornton threw a thick plume of dark smoke over the north metro Denver area that closed Interstate 25 in both directions before it was contained Wednesday.

Officials with the city of Thornton could not provide many details on the fire when initially contacted just after officials notified the public around noon, but said that the blaze near Pinnacle High School near 84th Avenue and Huron Street did not damage any residences in the area.

But at least one business, Rol Race Motorsports, was not as lucky. The BMW restoration shop, operated by Jason Rol on the rear of the building, had over 100 vehicles in their back lot that was consumed by the fire.
