WATCH LIVE: President Donald J. Trump honors Angel Families at the White House
POTUS: "Everyone in this room not only suffered an infinite loss; there were the victims of politicians who put the comfort of foreign criminals before the safety of American citizens & American patriots."
"In just a few moments, I'll officially sign a Proclamation that I've been waiting to sign for a long time... February 22nd is going to be National Angel Family Day."
"Weβre willing to tell the story that the news doesnβt want to hear, the Democrats donβt want to hear.. we want to stop murders and criminals from coming into our country... We appreciate the bravery of everybody in this room."
Allyson Phillips, whose daughter, 22-year old Laken Riley, was killed by an illegal alien while she was out for a run:
"If you've lived that nightmare that we have lived, you understand the importance of the job that [POTUS is] doing in securing our nation and fighting for our families β because this could be any family." β€οΈ
Palm Beach County, FL Police Officer and Former NYPD Officer: "I personally arrested JosΓ© Ibarra for endangering the welfare of a child. A few months later, I saw his face again in the news after he viciously murdered Laken Riley. I did my job. I put him in custody β the system failed. No detainer, no accountability, no deportation β and an innocent American life was taken. If you enter our country illegally, there will be consequences under this administration."
Steve Ronnebeck, whose 21-year-old son, Grant, was shot and killed while working at an Arizona convenience store:
"President Trump talked about Grant even before he was elected in 2016 β and finally, we had hope... Now, today, we are finally going to see that somebody's going to remember all of our loved ones." π
Angel Mom Marie Vega, mother of former U.S. Marine & Border Patrol Agent Javier Vega, Jr., tells the story of her son's murder:
"Thank God we have you in office. Without you, America, and the world, would not know the consequences of open borders." β€οΈ
Angel Mom Laura Wilkerson: "I met a man about 11 years ago who was running for office...he watched as the tears rolled down my face as I told him the story of how our youngest son, Joshua, was brutally beaten, tortured, strangled to death, and his body set on fire. The man next to me was President Trump. He never, ever, looked away from my pain. He looked me straight in the eye and he said, 'I will never forget the story of your sweet son, and I will never give up fighting for the American family.' ... he's never missed a day of fighting for the American family."
Jody Jones, whose brother, Rocky, was shot and killed by an illegal: "I'm sick and tired of hearing these [Democrat] politicians stand up on these podiums and say how sorry they are for seeing these criminal illegal aliens being 'ripped apart' from their families. What about US?... We mean something to, and this man right here understands it."
POTUS reads a letter sent to him by two heartbroken grandparents whose 8-year-old granddaughter was run over and killed by an illegal alien:
"We're putting American citizens first, we're defending American lives, and we're fighting for every Angel Family."
POTUS honors Angel Families at the White House: "Americans like Laken, and Grant, and Javier, and Joshua, Rocky, Rachel, Kayla β these are great people, and I'll never forget them... I just think you're among the most brave people." β€οΈ

NEW: DHS is slamming California Gov. Newsom after they say he pardoned a Cambodian illegal alien w/ a deportation order who was convicted of attempted murder & assault w/ a firearm, which will shield him from deportation. DHS says the pardon removes his qualifying convictions for deportation, & he can now re-open immigration proceedings and remain in the U.S. for the process, which often takes years.
The man, Somboon Phaymany, was sentenced to 14 years to life in 1997 in San Diego, CA and had his green card revoked as a result of his convictions. He was ordered deported from the U.S. by an immigration judge in 2019.
In his pardon, Gov. Newsom writes:
βThis act of clemency does not minimize or forgive his conduct or the harm it causedβ¦he has provided evidence that he is living an upright life and has demonstrated his fitness for restoration of civic rights.β
DHS is outraged, writing in a statement via Tricia McLaughlin:
βGovernor Newsom pardoning an illegal alien convicted of attempted murder, so he can remain in our country is absolute INSANITY. These are the criminal illegal aliens he and his sanctuary politicians are protecting. He is putting the lives of all Americans at risk. Somboon Phaymany lost his green card following his conviction for attempted murder and assault with a firearm. Following the conviction, he was placed in removal proceedings and issued a final order of removal by a judge. Gavin Newsomβs pardon took away this attempted murdererβs qualifying convictions that made him removable from the U.S.β

Bass, Newsom didnβt clear dangerous brushβ¦
Pacific Palisades, Altadena, Malibu burned.
Now Los Angeles is FINING Palisades burned lot holders for βbrush clearance initial inspection noncompliance notices.β
β¦ while their lots sit vacant, burned, not yet permitted to build often because of red tape.
You canβt make this up.
Limited water, prevention, plan, people, firetrucks. No brush clearance by leadership or their teams. Fire on state ground. Limited response due to a protected plant. Roll the dice and lose cities.
And now fine your victims in yet another attempt to SHIFT THE BLAME from ineptitude, gross negligence to the victims.

Please, pray for the Texas Department of Public Safety Trooper who was shot in the line of duty overnight.ππ»
Last night, a Texas Department of Public Safety Trooper was shot near Big Spring. The Trooper was transported and is now listed as stable but still in critical condition.
"We are aware of the incident involving one of our Troopers last night and early in the morning; and are grateful to report that he is receiving medical care following injuries sustained in the line of duty. While details remain limited out of respect for the ongoing investigation and the privacy of the Trooper and his family, what is clear is that he demonstrated tremendous courage while responding to a dangerous situation.
Our thoughts and prayers are with him, his family, and the Troopers and first responders standing alongside them during this time. We are especially thankful that his protective equipment did exactly what it was designed to do and helped save his life."
Texas Department of Public Safety Officers Association
UPDATE: The Texas Rangers are now investigating an officer-involved shooting that occurred on Monday, Feb. 23, at approximately 12:40 AM, in the 500 block of Westover near the Westover Hills Apartments in Big Spring. The preliminary investigation shows a Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) Trooper attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a vehicle for a traffic violation. The vehicle did not stop, and the Trooper performed a PIT maneuver; however, the vehicle drove into the bushes, and two suspects evaded on foot. During the foot pursuit, one of the suspects fired shots, striking the Trooper, and the Trooper returned fire. Currently, one suspect is deceased, and the other suspect has not been apprehended. The DPS Trooper sustained a gunshot wound and was transported to a Lubbock area hospital, where they are listed in stable condition. No residents at the West Hills Apartments were injured.
As this is an active and ongoing investigation, no additional information is available.

What the media wonβt tell you: this woman was BANNED from our country for 10 years for violating terms of her visa.
Here are the facts:
Karen Newton has violated the laws of our nation, and overstayed her visa waiver admission for almost FOUR years after visiting her spouse. Her husband, William Newton ALSO broke the law for nearly 20 years by overstaying an H-1B visa.
The Biden Administration granted her a tourist visa, and she traveled to the U.S. under this visa and was let into our nation.
When she and her husband attempted to cross the Canadian border, they did not have proper paperwork for their vehicle and were denied entry into Canada. During her inspection re-entering the U.S., she was unable to provide clear details about her situation, including her husbandβs legal status.
Given her history of overstays, her husbandβs unlawful presence, and the vehicle documentation issues, officers determined scrutiny and detention were warranted under the law and she was detained.
