In Oakland, California, no one is above being targeted by the criminals β not even the mayor. A thief reportedly stole Mayor Barbara Leeβs car keys from her office and, two days later, returned to steal the car. The mayorβs abandoned black SUV was later discovered nearby in Vallejo, California. The Oakland Police Department has yet to locate the thief. Apparently, Oakland has the highest auto theft rate in the country, with 9,914 motor vehicle thefts in 2024, according to FBI data. Its overall crime rate was also four times the national average in 2024, likely due to the fact that the Oakland Police Department is suffering from a severe shortage of officers. Even the Soros-backed Oakland DA wasnβt exempt from brazen burglars who broke her SUV window to steal her laptop. Ironically, though, she claims she βdoesnβt feel unsafeβ living there.

NEW: A 26-year-old undocumented immigrant from Venezuela is facing an attempted first-degree premeditated murder charge after Martin County deputies say he attacked a woman on Stuart Beach and repeatedly held her head underwater, believing he had killed her.
Martin County Sheriff John Budensiek identified the suspect as Said Alexander Hernandez-Gonzalez, a Port St. Lucie resident whose work visa expired and who is now in the country illegally.
βThis is an extremely alarming case,β Budensiek said. βRandom acts of violence like this are some of the most difficult crimes to solve β and thatβs exactly what this was.β
According to the Martin County Sheriffβs Office, deputies responded around 11 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 12, to a disturbance call at Stuart Beach, located at 889 NE Ocean Boulevard.
Budensiek said the victim had gone to the beach alone earlier that evening βto clear her headβ and was walking north along the shoreline toward the Tiger Shores area while on the phone with her sister when the attack happened.

π A MIRACLE IN MOTION β DEPUTY WALKS OUT OF THE HOSPITAL π
Today, we pause to give thanks β and to honor true courage.
After being shot multiple times in the line of duty, a 24-year-old sheriffβs deputy who spent days fighting for his life has done the unthinkable: he walked out of the hospital. What began as a terrifying moment for his family, fellow deputies, and community has become a powerful testimony of strength, faith, and resilience.
Behind the badge is a young man who ran toward danger to protect others. He endured critical injuries, surgery, and uncertainty β and he refused to give up. His survival is nothing short of a miracle, and a sobering reminder of the risks law enforcement officers face every single day when they put on the uniform.
We also owe profound gratitude to the hospital staff β doctors, nurses, surgeons, and caregivers β whose skill, dedication, and tireless care helped save this deputyβs life. Their compassion and expertise made hope possible when the odds were stacked high.
The road to recovery continues, but today represents hope, strength, and a second chance at life. We stand with this deputy, his family, his agency, and every member of the Blue Family who felt this fight personally.
Heroes walk among us β some in uniform, some in scrubs β and today, we honor them all. ππ

While snowmobiling in Northern New Hampshire, a group stumbled upon a young moose that was stuck in the snow.
With at least four feet of snow on the ground and the moose showing signs of exhaustion, the group stepped in to dig her out of the deep snowbank.
Using their hands and boots, they spent about 20 minutes digging her out of the snow, and stayed for 10 more minutes to make sure she was OK before riding away.

"But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him. But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God. For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God.β
