A Daytona Beach man is in custody after sending messages, including video of gunshots, threatening: "This is what's in store."
The VSO Domestic Security Unit tracked down Adrian Morales at the Icon One Daytona apartments directly across from Daytona International Speedway on Saturday. He was taken into custody without incident the day before the Daytona 500.
Morales' proximity to the Speedway was concerning due to past grievances and aggressive messages he left for a NASCAR executive.
The new threats in this video were directed at someone else, but also referenced grievances with the Sheriff's Office, DEA, and FBI.
Morales' pattern of increasingly erratic behavior created urgency for law enforcement intervention.
After he was taken into custody, detectives recovered the AR-15 used in the video along with several rounds of ammunition from Morales' vehicle in the Icon One Daytona parking lot.
A judge subsequently ordered him held at the Volusia County Branch Jail with no bond.

Ohio: A Hamilton County sheriff's deputy and a suspect were injured after a police chase in downtown Cincinnati closed roads.
The investigation was centered around Central Parkway, near Walnut Street and Vine Street on Tuesday night.
Police sources told WLWT that a deputy was trying to tackle a suspect who had a warrant and ran from law enforcement.
The deputy was treated at the scene after hitting their head during the altercation. The deputy is expected to recover.

The Florida Highway Patrol honors the life and service of Trooper Michael Diego, who tragically passed away in the line of duty on February 18, 2026. While participating in a competitive process for the Patrol's Criminal Interdiction Unit at the FHP Training Academy, Trooper Diego suffered a medical emergency. Despite lifesaving efforts, he tragically passed away with his loved ones at his side at Tallahassee Memorial Hospital.

Georgia: A Hahira Police Department officer and another driver were killed early Thursday morning following a devastating crash on Interstate 75 in Lowndes County during a traffic stop, according to the Georgia State Patrol. This happened around 12:10 a.m. on I-75 north. Authorities say the Hahira Police Department officer was conducting a traffic stop on a while parked on the east shoulder of the interstate in a marked patrol vehicle with emergency lights activated. Investigators report that a northbound car failed to maintain its lane and traveled onto the shoulder, striking the rear of the patrol vehicle. The impact forced the patrol car into the into the other car, sending all three vehicles off the roadway. Tragically, the officer died at the scene from injuries sustained in the crash. Officials confirmed the officer’s family has been notified, though the officer’s identity has not yet been released. The driver of the striking car also died as a result of the collision.
