Please, pray for the Pueblo Police officers who were injured in the line of duty when an explosive went off while it was being processed into evidence. ππ»
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: February 12, 2026
Pueblo Metro Bomb Squad Para-Technicians Injured
On February 12, 2026, at approximately 10:35 AM, the Pueblo Metro Bomb Squad (PMBS) Explosive Ordinance Disposal (EOD) Technicians and Para-Technicians were conducting the evidence-processing phase of an ongoing criminal investigation in the safety of the Pueblo Police Departmentβs bomb range.
During this process, an explosive device seized as part of the criminal investigation inadvertently detonated while personnel were attempting to render the device safe and collect evidence for the criminal case.
This incident resulted in first- and second-degree burns to one officer and first-, second- and third-degree burns to another. Both officers were immediately transported for medical care.
βToday is a difficult day; two of our team members were injured while serving the community of Pueblo. Weβre holding them close in our hearts and will stand beside them through the recovery process,β said Chief of Pueblo Police Chris Noeller.
The injuries to the two officers are not life-threatening; however, the officer with third-degree burns was transported to a Denver burn unit for treatment and remains hospitalized. The other officer was treated and released. No community members or other staff were injured in this incident, and there was no danger to the public at any time during the render safe procedure.
The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) agency is assisting with the seized device and the ongoing criminal investigation.
Updates will be provided as they become available.

There is a massive Ecological Disaster unfolding in the Potomac River as a result of the Gross Mismanagement of Local Democrat Leaders, particularly, Governor Wes Moore, of Maryland. A sewer line breach in Maryland has caused millions of gallons of raw sewage to be dumped directly into the Potomac River, a result of incompetent Local and State Management of Essential Waste Management Systems. This is the same Governor who cannot rebuild a Bridge. It is clear Local Authorities cannot adequately handle this calamity. Therefore, I am directing Federal Authorities to immediately provide all necessary Management, Direction, and Coordination to protect the Potomac, the Water Supply in the Capital Region, and our treasured National Resources in our Nationβs Capital City. While State and Local Authorities have failed to request needed Emergency Help, I cannot allow incompetent Local βLeadershipβ to turn the River in the Heart of Washington into a Disaster Zone. As we saw in the Palisades, the Democrat War on Merit has real consequences. The Federal Government has no choice, but to step in. FEMA, which is currently being defunded by the Democrats, will play a key role in coordinating the response. Thank you for your attention to this matter! PRESIDENT DONALD J. TRUMP

After an incredible career of service, weβre proud to officially announce the retirement of K9 Sig. πΎπ
K9 Sig began his journey with DCSO in February of 2019 to start trainingβand by March, he was already on patrol. From day one, he worked tirelessly to master every aspect of his training. Over the years, he assisted in numerous apprehensions and made narcotics finds both large and small, proving himself time and time again as a dependable and driven partner.
But Sig was more than just a working dogβhe became family. Around the office, there were plenty of jokes that Sig didnβt always want to apprehend because he recognized his DCSO family and just wanted to be with them.
In 2024, during a call that escalated into shots fired while he was on leash, Sig stood ready to respond and take the suspect down, but once the situation slowed and he was checked out, K9 Sig immediately shifted roles. He became exactly what every Deputy and assisting agency patrolman needed in that momentβmoving from person to person, checking on everyone, and allowing them to pet him.
Most recently, Sig served as a temporary Jail K9, where he continued detecting illegal contraband while, of course, making more friends along the way. No matter the assignment, he gave it everything he had.
Sig will surely miss jumping into his patrol car, coming to work, and chasing bad guysβ¦but weβre pretty sure heβll adjust quickly to taking over the couch and enjoying the slower pace of retirement life.
K9 Sig will be deeply missed and will always be remembered as one of the best partners I could have asked for. The next K9 has big shoes to fill.
Enjoy retirement, Sigβyouβve earned every second of it. πβ¨
