Arizona: A person suspected of shoplifting is dead from police gunfire in Goodyear after authorities said he tried to grab an officer's firearm in a scuffle that led to the officer suffering a bullet graze.

Just after 4 p.m. on Feb. 10, officers responded to a shoplifting call near Litchfield Road and Interstate 10, according to Goodyear police spokesperson Sgt. Mayra Reeson. An officer at the scene saw someone who matched the description of the suspect and tried to detain him but a struggle ensued, Reeson said in a news release.
During the skirmish, the person reached around the officer and grabbed for the officer's firearm, Reeson said.
As the officer tried to retain control of the gun, both the officer and the suspect's hand were on the firearm when a round discharged, Reeson said. The officer regained control and created a distance with the suspect, who continued approaching and reaching for the officer's vest and firearm, Reeson said.

NEW: Freight Train Derailment Disrupts Metra & Roads in Oak Lawn, Illinois.

A freight train derailment early Wednesday morning has significantly impacted transportation in Oak Lawn, a southwest suburb of Chicago. The incident occurred near the 108th Street railroad crossing between Central and Ridgeland Avenue, along the border of Chicago Ridge and Oak Lawn, according to Chicago Weather

Metra officials say they were notified around 4:45 a.m., and as a result, all Southwest Service trains are completely suspended in both directions until further notice. Riders are strongly encouraged to seek alternative transportation, including driving into the city if possible.

At this time, it remains unclear whether there are any reported injuries. Authorities continue to investigate and work toward restoring service.

The NYPD reported a police officer died after a car crash on Long Island yesterday.

The incident was reported around 3:15am at the intersection of Broadway Avenue and Little Plains Road in Greenvale, Suffolk County on February 8th. This was involving a Honda CRV, 2009 model and a Toyota Tundra, 2022 model.

The driver of the Honda, Officer Michael Izzo was transported to a local hospital where he died of injuries on Tuesday. He was a police officer with the 111th Precinct in Queens.

"Michael proudly joined the NYPD in December 2021 and quickly became known as a dedicated officer who cared deeply about his community and the work he did. His loss is deeply felt by his fellow officers, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him."

There was nothing definitive reached other than I insisted that negotiations with Iran continue to see whether or not a Deal can be consummated. If it can, I let the Prime Minister know that will be a preference. If it cannot, we will just have to see what the outcome will be. Last time Iran decided that they were better off not making a Deal, and they were hit with Midnight Hammer — That did not work well for them. Hopefully this time they will be more reasonable and responsible. Additionally, we discussed the tremendous progress being made in Gaza, and the Region in general.
