A small plane was forced to make an emergency landing Monday on a busy Gainesville Georgia roadway, hitting multiple vehicles and shutting down a major intersection. On January 21, 2026, Deputy Rager responded to a call about two dogs running loose in Crescent City. When he arrived, he immediately saw one of them, a German shepherd, was suffering from a severe leg injury.
Deputy Rager did not hesitate. He applied a bandage on scene and rushed to secure emergency veterinary care.
The veterinarian later confirmed the dog would not have survived without his quick action.
Sheriff Scott commended Deputy Rager for his lifesaving efforts and compassion, calling it a moment that reflects the heart of the Del Norte County Sheriff’s Office.

Georgia: Conyers police are reminding drivers to be careful after a car slammed into an officer’s patrol vehicle parked alongside I-20.
The accident happened recently while a sergeant was helping a stranded driver with a flat tire on the interstate, the Conyers Police Department said in a social media post Monday.
A driver hit the patrol car while the officer was entering call notes into their computer, badly damaging the car and sending the officer to the hospital with minor injuries.

According to court docs, the child, who made the journey with her mother but was separated before crossing, was rescued before she ended up in the hands of Alaska man Douglas Price, a registered sex offender who has a rap sheet.
Price paid roughly $5,000 to fund the mother and daughter’s dangerous journey to the border “through payments from his business, Black Bear Construction." He allegedly sent the funds “to a phone number provided by the smugglers.”
Price also sent photos of himself to the mother and “inquired about” her daughter’s “status."
