We extend our deepest sympathy to the Lee County Sheriff’s Office, Mississippi, as they mourn the tragic loss of one of their own, Deputy Rick Haggard, who lost his life yesterday in the line of duty. This is yet another great loss to our law enforcement community.

Deputy Haggard, 52, proudly served as a School Resource Officer, dedicating his life to protecting the children he served.

Our thoughts and prayers are with Sheriff Jim Johnson, the men and women of the Lee County Sheriff’s Office, Deputy Haggard’s family, friends, colleagues, and the entire Lee County community during this incredibly challenging time.

USCIS and ICE apprehended Edwin Antonio Hernandez-Hernandez, a criminal illegal alien from El Salvador. Hernandez confessed to membership in MS-13 and five savage murders in his home country — including the LIVE DISMEMBERMENT of one victim.

Hernandez brazenly prayed on the generosity of the American people when he applied for asylum. The Biden administration DISREGARDED his vast criminal history, granted his request, and set a killer loose in our country because they claimed Hernandez required protection from torture in his home country — where Hernandez HIMSELF was the perpetrator of unspeakable torture and murder.

We are grateful that our brave law enforcement took this criminal off the streets, but Hernandez’s arrest occurred just two and a half weeks before Governor Spanberger signed an executive order that ended required cooperation of local and state law enforcement with ICE. Governor Spanberger’s actions protect monsters like Hernandez at the expense of Virginians’ public safety. Cooperation between local law enforcement and ICE is essential to getting violent criminals OUT of our communities.

The difference between searching and finding. Thanks to License Plate Reader (LPR) technology and tips from citizens, this safe recovery occurred less than 10 minutes of the alert going out.

At 2:13 PM, an AMBER Alert was sent out regarding a child abduction related to a homicide in Mansfield, TX.

By 2:20 PM, this trooper located vehicle, arrested the suspect without incident, and safely recovered the child. 
We appreciate our radio operators for their quick work in getting this alert out and the public for sharing it.

San Francisco Police

A Houston police SWAT officer died in a fiery crash early Sunday morning after he hit a tree in his city-owned vehicle, according to authorities.

Houston police identified the victim as Sean McCreary, a senior police officer who had been with the department since 2011. According to HPD, McCreary was off-duty but driving his city-issued take-home vehicle.

He crashed into a tree in the median on Cypress Mill Place near Cypresswood. Records show it happened about a mile from his home.

McCreary was assigned to the department's Tactical Operations Division and was described by colleagues as a dedicated SWAT officer.
