During protests last Tuesday evening, pepper spray, pepper balls, and flashbang grenades were reportedly used by police, and in response, KTMR decided to examine the use of force policies of the Department of Homeland Security and local police.

UPDATE: Sheriff Kevin McMahill, alongside the Federal Bureau of Investigation and Clark County Fire Department, provided a detailed update regarding the complex investigation at a residence on Sugar Springs Drive in northeast Las Vegas near Washington and Hollywood.
A little over a week ago, LVMPD received information that laboratory equipment and potentially hazardous materials may have been stored inside the home. As investigators looked deeper, they learned the property owner was connected to a 2023 illegal biological laboratory investigation in Reedley, California.
In that California case, investigators reportedly discovered materials possibly associated with infectious diseases including hepatitis, COVID-19, HIV, malaria, and other potentially dangerous pathogens.
While it was unknown whether similar materials were present at the Las Vegas residence, the possibility required LVMPD and partner agencies to proceed with extreme caution.
Because of those concerns, LVMPDβs Counterterrorism Section and ARMOR Task Force, in partnership with the FBI and regional fire agencies, initiated a joint investigation and extensive operational planning to address the potential risk safely.
Early Saturday morning at 5:51 a.m., LVMPD SWAT served the search warrant. Three individuals renting rooms inside the home were safely removed and are not involved in the investigation.
Investigators focused on a locked garage believed to contain the materials. To minimize risk, LVMPD deployed drones for aerial awareness and a tactical robot to clear the interior and conduct air sampling before personnel entered.
Once safe to proceed, the ARMOR team entered wearing protective equipment. Investigators observed refrigerators, a freezer, laboratory-type equipment, and numerous containers holding unknown liquid substances.
Due to the unknown nature of the materials, the operation required multiple controlled entries, strict safety protocols, and extensive decontamination procedures. Evidence collection continued through Sunday and concluded at approximately 6:30 p.m. The materials were transported to a Southern Nevada Health District facility for secure storage and are now being transferred to an FBI laboratory for testing.
Remediation of the residence was completed early this morning. Final checks confirmed the location is safe.
One suspect connected to the property owner remains in federal custody related to the Reedley investigation. LVMPD also arrested 55-year-old Ori Solomon on a charge of disposing and discharging hazardous waste.
This operation involved a coordinated response from numerous local, state, and federal partners. Sheriff McMahill emphasized that modern technology, including drones, robotics, and real-time command monitoring, played a critical role in protecting first responders while allowing the operation to move quickly and safely.
We thank the residents of the neighborhood for their patience and cooperation throughout the weekend.
Additional confirmed information will be released as it becomes available.

NEW: DEI Democrat run New Orleans Police caught again hiring illegal aliens as cops. Today ICE arrested another police recruit. Dapper Detective
UPDATE: ICE confirms to Bill Melugin that theyβve arrested a New Orleans Police Department recruit who they say is an illegal alien from Cameroon with an active deportation order & no work authorization, & they say he was illegally given a gun by New Orleans PD.
ICE says 46-year-old Larry Temah was one week away from graduating the New Orleans PD academy when they arrested him.
They say Temah first entered the US legally in 2015 on a visitorβs visa and was granted conditional residency after marrying a US citizen in 2016. However, in 2022, his application for permanent residency was denied to due to fraud.
ICE says Temah was ordered to appear in immigration court three times, but never did, disregarding US laws, which resulted in an immigration judge ordering him deported in absentia, resulting in his active deportation order.
DHS statement to FOX:
βThis illegal alien from Cameroon, Larry Temah, is not only breaking the law with every step he takes in this country illegally, but the New Orleans Police Department hired him and issued him a firearm - what kind of law enforcement department gives criminal illegal aliens guns and badges? Itβs a FELONY for illegal aliens to even possess a firearm. Sanctuary cities like New Orleans ignore ICE detainers and are protecting illegal aliens at the expense of American citizens."

Karoline Leavitt on President Trump's support for the SAVE Act: POTUS "believes there has obviously been a lot of fraud and irregularities that have taken place in American elections, and voter ID is a highly popular and common sense policy that the president wants to pursue."
PressSec: "As you all saw yesterday, POTUS struck another great trade deal, with India... India committed to not only no longer purchasing Russian oil, but buying oil from the United States... Prime Minister Modi committed to $500B of investments into the United States."
PressSec: "Tulsi Gabbard has been tapped by POTUS to oversee the sanctity and the security of our American elections... This is a coordinated, whole-of-government effort to ensure that our elections are fair and transparent moving forward. I don't see anything wrong with the president tasking a cabinet member to pursue an issue most people want to see solved."
PressSec: "We're willing, obviously, to have this dialogue and to talk and to listen, but we are not going to concede in enforcing our nation's immigration laws and delivering on the mandate POTUS was given by nearly 80M Americans to deport illegal alien criminals."
PressSec: "It's very ironic and, frankly, sad to see celebrities who live in gated communities with private security, with millions of dollars to spend protecting themselves, trying to just demonize law enforcement public servants who work for the U.S. government to enforce our nation's laws.
You didn't hear this same type of uproar from celebrities in Hollywood when the previous Administration allowed an invasion of our nation's borders, and allowed innocent women and girls like Jocelyn Nungaray and Laken Riley to be killed and raped and murdered at the hands of people who should've never been in our country in the first place."

We extend our deepest sympathy to the Lee County Sheriffβs Office, Mississippi, as they mourn the tragic loss of one of their own, Deputy Rick Haggard, who lost his life yesterday in the line of duty. This is yet another great loss to our law enforcement community.
Deputy Haggard, 52, proudly served as a School Resource Officer, dedicating his life to protecting the children he served.
Our thoughts and prayers are with Sheriff Jim Johnson, the men and women of the Lee County Sheriffβs Office, Deputy Haggardβs family, friends, colleagues, and the entire Lee County community during this incredibly challenging time.
"Deputy Haggardβs commitment to service reflects the absolute best of law enforcement in our great state of Mississippi; selfless, courageous, and rooted in love for others. His sacrifice will never be forgotten."
βGreater love has no one than this: to lay down oneβs life for oneβs friends.β
May we always honor Deputy Rick Haggardβs ultimate sacrifice to serve and protect, and may his legacy live on in the lives he touched and the community he faithfully served.

MS-13 MONSTER WHO MURDERED 5 ARRESTED. COOPERATION WORKS!
USCIS and ICE apprehended Edwin Antonio Hernandez-Hernandez, a criminal illegal alien from El Salvador. Hernandez confessed to membership in MS-13 and five savage murders in his home country β including the LIVE DISMEMBERMENT of one victim.
Hernandez brazenly prayed on the generosity of the American people when he applied for asylum. The Biden administration DISREGARDED his vast criminal history, granted his request, and set a killer loose in our country because they claimed Hernandez required protection from torture in his home country β where Hernandez HIMSELF was the perpetrator of unspeakable torture and murder.
We are grateful that our brave law enforcement took this criminal off the streets, but Hernandezβs arrest occurred just two and a half weeks before Governor Spanberger signed an executive order that ended required cooperation of local and state law enforcement with ICE. Governor Spanbergerβs actions protect monsters like Hernandez at the expense of Virginiansβ public safety. Cooperation between local law enforcement and ICE is essential to getting violent criminals OUT of our communities.
