Please, pray for the Peoria County Sheriff’s deputy who was shot in the line of duty tonight.πŸ™πŸ» BREAKING: Peoria County Sheriff’s Office says a deputy was shot multiple times during a traffic stop around 9:52 p.m. in the 1000 block of S. Western Ave in Peoria…
Our prayers for a full recovery are with the deputy with the Peoria County Sheriff’s Office deputy who suffered from multiple gunshot wounds while conducting a routine traffic stop in Peoria last night. πŸ™πŸ»

Update on last night's incident:

Our deputy underwent surgery for multiple gunshot wounds. The procedure lasted most of the night and was successful. He faces a long recovery, but we are grateful that he is in stable condition. He has been a dedicated member of the Peoria County Sheriff's Office for the past three years.

Because the incident occurred in Peoria and the suspect fled the scene, the Peoria Police Department immediately offered its full support and resources and is handling the investigation. They will be releasing additional information. I truly want to thank all the first responders who were involved and the medical staff at the hospital.

It isn’t just humans who need help at times.

Last night, Warren County Sheriff’s Office’s Deputy Williams is helping out one of our smallest occupants. As he patrols our snow covered lake, he came across a snow bird in the middle of the road, that could not move, possibly cold stunned. He took the bird into his patrol car for a little warmth. When the bird seemed to recover, Deputy Williams released it back to its natural environment. Small thing but testament to the compassion exemplified by your Sheriff’s Office staff."

Great job, Deputy Williams!

Former police officer Amber Williamson is back in custody.

After she was arrested last week for trafficking in fentanyl and methamphetamine, Judge Randell H. Rowe released her on her own recognizance the next day.

Last night, the East Volusia Narcotics Task Force and Volusia Sheriff's Office CST deputies took Amber back into custody on additional felony drug warrants from the Port Orange Police Department: 2 more counts of trafficking in meth and another count of trafficking in fentanyl.

The Honorable Judge Chris Miller gave her NO BOND.

Given that detectives recovered 53 grams of fentanyl during her first arrest (enough for thousands of potentially fatal doses), you must start asking: WTF?

If Judge Rowe feels that certain drug dealers should be released on their own recognizance and sent right back into our community the next day, it makes you wonder why our deputies and police are busting their asses to lock them up in the first place?
