🚨 “Racing to a funeral” - but at what cost?

Trooper Ockenfels pulled over TWO vehicles on I-29 in Monona County after both were doing ~100 MPH in a 70 MPH zone. A mom led, and her daughter followed. Their excuse? “We are going to a funeral in SD and didn’t want to be late.”

A Baltimore police officer is injured following a crash with a civilian vehicle on Wednesday afternoon in the Cherry Hill neighborhood.

At 12:41 p.m. on Jan. 28, an officer was driving southbound in the 200 block of Cherry Hill Road with his lights and sirens on.

Officials said a civilian vehicle traveling southbound ahead of the police vehicle attempted to make a left turn onto Seagull Road. That's when the police vehicle tried to go around the civilian vehicle, but struck it.
The driver of the civilian vehicle was not injured, but the officer was transported to a local hospital with injuries.

Texas: HCSO deputy-involved shooting, preliminary information: a deputy was working an assignment with METROHouston at the Northline Transit Center located at the 7800 block of Fulton. The deputy reportedly discharged his weapon at a suspect who pulled a knife.

Suspect was transported to a hospital in critical condition. Houston Police will be the lead investigative agency.

UPDATE: Just checked on our deputy at the hospital. He’s doing good and in good spirits. He’s being treated for a cut to his hand and an injury to his knee. He should be discharged from the hospital this evening.

UPDATE: Fox confirms the video that appears to show Alex Pretti spitting towards ICE agents, kicking and busting out a tail light on an official car and being tackled on January 13th, more than a week before he was shot and killed on Jan 24th.

A family attorney tells Fox:

“A week before Alex was gunned down in the street – despite posing no threat to anyone – he was violently assaulted by a group of ICE agents. Nothing that happened a full week before could possibly have justified Alex’s killing at the hands of ICE on Jan 24.” - Pretti family attorney Steve Sleicher.

A DHS source on the ground tells Matt Finn.

•Pretti's gun appears visible. If so, it's a felony to have a firearm in the comission of another crime, which would be destruction of property or assault.

BREAKING: President Trump is considering a federal cap on state fuel taxes to provide relief at the pump. He highlighted California's high prices — currently the nation's second-highest at ~$4.26/gallon (behind only Hawaii) — and suggested the move could bring costs down significantly, potentially to around $2.50 in the state.

Fox News: “Part of the reason California’s gas prices are so high is the taxes… California levies the highest tax on gasoline in the nation, around $0.71 per gallon, more than double the national average for gas taxes.”

During our visit Tuesday, we saw piles of human waste and an MS-13 symbol tagged on the children’s playground.

A 15-year-old died in 2022 from a fentanyl overdose linked to this park.

Prayers for the Colorado State Trooper who was injured earlier this morning.🙏🏻

A Colorado State Patrol trooper was injured early Wednesday morning while trying to catch a wrong-way, suspected drunken driver on Interstate 25, according to the agency.

Troopers responded to the wrong-way driver traveling south on northbound I-25, about 11 miles north of Pueblo, at 3:45 a.m. Wednesday, according to a news release from the Colorado State Patrol.

The woman driving a 2021 Honda sedan turned around before reaching Pueblo, now traveling north on northbound I-25 near milemarker 117, state patrol officials said in the release.

She initially refused to pull over for law enforcement, but troopers eventually stopped the Honda driver at milemarker 123, near the Pikes Peak International Raceway. One trooper attempted to park in front of the Honda to block the driver in, according to the release.

That’s when the driver of a 2001 Hummer crashed into the state patrol vehicle, agency officials said.
