BREAKING: Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley  office tells me that after months of negotiations, DHS Secretary Kristi Noem is expected to testify before the committee on March 3rd.

I'm told there will be one round of questioning, with each senator on the committee allotted 10 minutes to question Secretary Noem, which Grassley’s office says is consistent with the 10 minutes that was allotted during AG Bondi and FBI Director Patel’s hearings.

Dem. Senators on the Judiciary committee include:

Dick Durbin (D-IL)
Amy Klobuchar (D-MN)
Adam Schiff (D-CA)
Alex Padilla (D-CA)
Sheldon Whitehouse (D-RI)
Chris Coons (D-DE)
Richard Blumenthal (D-CT)
Cory Booker (D-NJ)
Peter Welch (D-VT)
Mazie Hirono (D-HI)

Governor Tim Walz called me with the request to work together with respect to Minnesota. It was a very good call, and we, actually, seemed to be on a similar wavelength. I told Governor Walz that I would have Tom Homan call him, and that what we are looking…

Officer Safety isn't a buzz word. It is a real and tangible concern as we navigate a complicated political landscape. It became visible viscerally in Portland, when 2 of our officers were shot and nearly killed last week. Today, the Portland Mercury didn't see fit to print much of anything about that, though. Instead, their reporter is diving deep into muckraking 2 incidents already being investigated to disparage and put 2 police officers and their families at risk.

One video shows the conclusion of an attack on officers, in which a police sergeant was violently assaulted, and assailants actively try and prevent police from taking a suspect into custody. Because Portland is the one of the most transparent and accountable agencies in the world, all force is thoroughly reviewed with proper due process. Apparently, the Mercury and some elected officials would rather smear the officers before such an investigation can even take place. This is shameful.

Another incident shows the conclusion of a long and tense conversation during a moment of extremely high emotion and stress in our community. Instead of allowing for due process to play out and hearing the entire context, a city council member jumps to conclusions and puts pressure on the Bureau to punish the officer, openly stating conclusions not proven. Commenters on these posts display the risk to our officers and their families. But apparently clicks are worth the risk, as long as the victims are cops.

Portland deserves better than this nonsense. Our public servants deserve better. Our citizens demand better. We are a city on the brink of financial fracture with fault lines forming at every intersection. I am glad to see that so far, only a bird cage wrapper has taken the bait. In the meantime, I fully condemn this attack on the human beings in uniform and the naked attempt to disparage not only them, but their families. I further note the despicable and shocking effort to identify where officers may live. Doxxing is a crime and places officers and their families at risk. I am deeply thankful for the law enforcement community and our Portland community which has supported our officers through this difficult time.

President Trump spoke with Governor Walz directly this morning and outlined a clear and simple path to restoring law and order in Minnesota:

1.) Governor Walz, Mayor Frey, and all Democrat leaders should turn over all criminal illegal aliens currently incarcerated in their prisons and jails to federal authorities, along with any illegal aliens with active warrants or known criminal histories for immediate deportation.

2.) State and local law enforcement must agree to turn over all illegal aliens arrested by local police.

3.) Local police must assist federal law enforcement in apprehending and detaining illegal aliens wanted for crimes.

ICE and local law enforcement can peacefully work together, as they are effectively doing in so many other states and jurisdictions to remove violent criminals from American neighborhoods.

4.) Additionally, President Trump is calling on the United States Congress to immediately pass legislation ending sanctuary cities once and for all.

American cities should be safe sanctuaries for law-abiding citizens only β€” not for dangerous illegal alien criminals who broke our laws and do not belong here.

We hope Governor Walz will do the right thing and work with President Trump to keep the American people safe.

Americans overwhelmingly want exactly what President Trump is delivering: strong borders and strict immigration enforcement against the worst criminal illegal aliens, of which there are still hundreds of thousands to deport from the interior of our Country.

You wouldn’t know it from the biased media coverage, but polls show huge support for this very thing β€” more than 80 percent of Americans favor deporting illegal aliens convicted of violent crimes.

The most peaceful way to carry out this vital public safety mission is for Republicans and Democrats to do it together and for local and state law enforcement to work with federal law enforcement.

President Trump will never back down from his promise to deport violent criminal illegal aliens and Make America Safe Again.

Very misleading from Walz. Yes, his prisons honor ICE detainers by transferring *convicted* criminal aliens after they serve their sentence, but his city and county jails do not.

ICE wants criminal aliens arrested for crimes handed to them instead of being released to streets.

Even California prisons honor ICE detainers.

The sanctuary fights are over city and county jails.

Anti-ICE agitators are threatening the FAMILIES of our law enforcement. We will hunt these sickos down and put them behind bars.

ICE officers are facing a more than 8,000% increase in death threats against them.

The men and women of ICE are fathers and mothers, sons and daughters. They get up every morning to try and make our communities safer. The violence and dehumanization MUST END.
