FACT: When ICE agents approached the boy's illegal alien father, the man fled — abandoning his child in freezing cold temps.

FACT: Agents stayed with the boys for hours, bringing him McDonald's and listening to music in attempts to calm him down.

FACT: The boy's own mother refused to take custody of him.

FACT: With no other choice, the boy was reunited with his dad at a federal processing facility.

WATCH: L.A. charity boss accused in $23M homeless scam.

Federal prosecutors announced Friday that the head of a South Los Angeles charity was arrested on wire-fraud charges, accused of stealing more than $23 million meant to help people experiencing homelessness — and spending some of it on luxury travel, including stays at a Maui resort featured in HBO’s “The White Lotus.”

On Saturday, January 24, 2026, between 11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, Altadena Sheriff’s Station in partnership with the Pasadena Humane Society will host the “Adopt a Faithful Friend,” Pet Adoption Event at Altadena Sheriff’s Station, 780 E. Altadena Drive, Altadena, CA 91001.

This event is open to the public and aims to help pets find permanent, loving homes while strengthening community engagement and supporting public safety.

“The Altadena Sheriff’s Station is committed to initiatives that promote public safety and community well-being,” said Captain Ethan Marquez, Captain of the Altadena Sheriff’s Station. “Our partnership with the Pasadena Humane Society helps place pets in permanent homes, supports neighborhood safety through the presence of dogs as a burglary deterrent, and promotes positive mental health.”

Community members will have the opportunity to meet adoptable pets and receive information on responsible pet ownership.

UPDATE: After landing in LA today to transfer Top Ten Most Wanted Fugitive Ryan Wedding, our FBI/DOJ teams are now landing in Charlotte, NC to transfer another - Alejandro Castillo - the Top Ten Most Wanted Fugitive arrested one week ago today in Mexico.

Castillo’s quick return to the States from Mexico wouldn’t have been possible without President Trump’s and AG Pam Bondi’s leadership. Mexico Ambassador Ron Johnson, Legat Mexico, the State Department, and many more great partners were instrumental in this effort as well.

Castillo was on the run in Mexico for nearly 10 years, wanted by the state of North Carolina on charges for the murder of his former coworker, 23 year old Sandy Ly Le.

In August of 2016, Ly Le’s body was found in a wooded area of Cabarrus County, NC. Her vehicle was located at a bus station in Phoenix, Arizona - and Castillo was spotted on video crossing the border from Nogales, Arizona into Mexico one day later. A federal arrest warrant was issued for Castillo in February 2017.

Today, he is being transferred back to the Charlotte-Mecklenburg authorities with FBI Charlotte to face justice.

Collectively, this is the SIXTH Top Ten Most Wanted Fugitive captured in just one year under President Trump and this FBI/DOJ - two more than the previous four years combined - and the SECOND Top Ten Most Wanted transfer from Mexico we’ve made in a single day.

Sandy Ly Lee was a first generation college graduate who had her whole life ahead of her. Her family will never get their daughter back - but I hope today can help further the healing process and bring them peace in knowing that her alleged killer will face justice.

It’s a huge day for law and order in America.

On Jan. 23, at the direction of SecWar Pete Hegseth, Joint Task Force Southern Spear conducted a lethal kinetic strike on a vessel operated by Designated Terrorist Organizations. Intelligence confirmed the vessel was transiting along known narco-trafficking routes in the Eastern Pacific and was engaged in narco-trafficking operations. Two narco-terrorists were killed and one survived the strike. Following the engagement, USSOUTHCOM immediately notified USCG to activate the Search and Rescue system for the survivor.

Michigan: A neighborhood in Melvindale near I-94 and Greenfield Road turned into a frozen lake overnight after a water main break flooded South Dearborn Street near Wood Street.

By Friday morning, the standing water had frozen solid, trapping a vehicle in the ice. A tow truck was seen nearby but was unable to reach the vehicle due to the frozen conditions.

The incident comes as Southeast Michigan braces for the coldest air in decades. Wind chills are expected to plunge as low as -35° in some areas through Friday morning and into Saturday, making conditions especially dangerous.
