The Prince George’s County Department of Corrections is mourning the loss of Master Corporal John Nicholson, who died in a crash hours after his retirement celebration.

MCpl. Nicholson started his career on June 18, 2001, and retired December 31, 2025. A retirement celebration was held for him at the facility on Wednesday where some of our retirees came back to see him off.

“Big Nic”, as he was warmly known, has worked all over the facility with his most recent post being in reception where he greeted everyone as they entered the facility, usually bringing smiles to people’s faces to start the day. MCpl. Nicholson received many awards with the Department to include a Valor Award during his time on the Emergency Response Team.

NEW: FoxNews has obtained a DHS photo of ADRIAN ALEXANDER CONEJO ARIAS, the father of 5-year-old Liam Conejo Ramos. A senior DHS official tells FOX they have no record of the family entering the U.S. via the Biden era CBP One cell phone app as the family attorney claimed. FOX is told CONEJO ARIAS is an Ecuadorean national who is in the U.S. illegally, and DHS offered him a process known as VR (voluntary return) to leave the U.S. voluntarily with no immigration consequence, but he declined.

DHS says CONEJO ARIAS fled from ICE agents who were trying to arrest him in Minnesota, leaving his 5-year-old son Liam behind with ICE agents in a situation now seen in viral photos. This has sparked claims from Democrats that Liam was “kidnapped” and “targeted” by ICE to be “used as bait”.

If you're a homeless person trying to seek, come down to Skid Row because they say, hey, this is the place you need to be.

You try to set up a tent. A lot of these individuals will approach you and say, what are you doing here? Well, I'm just trying to live. Well, nope, this is my block. You either have to pay a tax.

If you don't pay the tax, you have to sell our drugs. We've got to allow our women to use your tent. And if you don't, you get assaulted or they do what's called a skid row eviction, where your tent gets pulled out and set on fire.

So a lot of these individuals in skid row have no choice. Some of them, they're not hardened criminals, but they have no choice because the criminal element is so strong, their influence and their grip on the community is so strong.“

FACT: When ICE agents approached the boy's illegal alien father, the man fled — abandoning his child in freezing cold temps.

FACT: Agents stayed with the boys for hours, bringing him McDonald's and listening to music in attempts to calm him down.

FACT: The boy's own mother refused to take custody of him.

FACT: With no other choice, the boy was reunited with his dad at a federal processing facility.
