Nevada: A Highway Patrol trooper was injured in a crash on a Las Vegas freeway on Monday, according to a spokesperson.

The trooper was responding to help a stranded driver around 8:44 a.m. on northbound Interstate 15 just north of Sahara Avenue, Trooper Shawn Haggstrom said.
While the trooper was inside their patrol vehicle, a car hit them from behind.

Haggstrom said the trooper reported non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to a hospital via ambulance. Please join us in sending prayers and, or positive thoughts for his recovery🙏🏻

The driver of the car that hit the trooper remained on scene and did not show any signs of impairment. They were not transported for any injuries.

When a massive fire broke out at a commercial complex with multiple businesses near Valley View and Spring Mountain on December 26, 2025, LVMPD’s Drone as First Responder (DFR) Unit was requested to assist the Clark County Fire Department (CCFD).

Our DFR team responded immediately and provided live overhead drone video and thermal imaging to fire crews on the ground — helping identify hidden hot spots and reignitions that weren’t visible from street level.

In real-time, the drone team also assisted crews as firefighters climbed onto the roof to continue battling the blaze, keeping personnel informed of danger areas and heat signatures that could not be seen from below.

Through live video feeds and coordinated radio communication, CCFD was able to contain the fire and prevent it from spreading — with no injuries to their personnel.

BREAKING: 3 injured in crash, shooting and fight in Arden-Arcade, Sacramento, California.

Three people were injured in a crash that was followed by a shooting and fight in Arden-Arcade, according to the Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District and Sacramento County Sheriff's Office. A fire engine was also struck by gunfire.

A Virginia State Police trooper was injured Wednesday morning during a tractor trailer crash on Interstate 81 in Rockingham County, according to VSP.

The incident happened around 5:47 a.m. near the 250-mie marker on I-81 northbound. The trooper was checking on two tractor trailers on the right shoulder of the interstate when a third tractor trailer traveling north hit the trooper’s vehicle, VSP said in a release.

The trooper was taken to the hospital to be examined, VSP said, though she had non-life-threatening injuries. The trooper’s K-9 was also taken to a veterinarian to be examined. Please join us in sending prayers and, or positive thoughts for their recovery🙏🏻

A New York State Trooper is being credited with a "hoot" of a rescue after helping an injured owl along Interstate 81 this weekend.

Trooper Christopher Gibbs spotted a young, barred owl on the median shoulder of the highway, just feet from active traffic lanes, after the bird had been struck by a vehicle.

Gregg Jarrett says dismissing the charges against Don Lemon raises red flags, predicting the DOJ will bypass the magistrate and pursue an indictment through a grand jury or a district judge:

“Rejecting the charges against Don Lemon smells fishy to me, and we may actually learn more about the magistrate’s motivations, his bias, and his conflict of interest. Legally, the magistrate would have had to decide that the prosecutors did not meet the standard of probable cause. But personally disagreeing with the wisdom or fairness of bringing the case is not a valid ground for overriding the charging decision. I thoroughly expect the DOJ to do one of two things here: either bypass the magistrate by going directly to a grand jury for an indictment against Don Lemon, or go to a real district court judge.”

UPDATE: The San Jose police officer who was shot during a carjacking chase in San Jose on Wednesday has been released after a day in the hospital.

Following the shooting, the sergeant was reported to be stable but in critical condition. He was shot in the head, but was released from the hospital with a bandage, escorted by his coworkers at the San Jose Police Department.
