JUST IN: Deadly crash ends police pursuit through Orange County, California.

A pursuit started by the Anaheim Police Department ended after a multi-vehicle collision killed one person in the nearby city of Placentia.

Last Friday, around 12pm, we received a 911 call from a frantic mother. She said while she, and the father of their child, were on a walk with their daughter, they started discussing ending their relationship.

The father of their child became enraged, threatened to kill their daughter (who he was holding), then kill himself. He then ran to their apartment, still carrying their daughter, and barricaded himself.

Officers arrived in no time, which included members of our UPD Crisis Negotiation Team (CNT), and quickly established communication to de-escalate the situation. After the father refused to comply and exit the residence, a SWAT call-out was initiated.

Once the suspect realized he had armored vehicles outside, drones overhead, detectives on scene with a warrant in hand… CNT was still on the phone offering a peaceful solution and a way out. He came to his senses and surrendered.

Back in 2025, Upland PD and Montclair PD merged our SWAT Teams into one unified team. This collaboration benefits both cities by bolstering the overall number of SWAT operators available, added a second armored vehicle, and further promotes the continued working relationship between our neighboring jurisdictions. Even with an increased geographical footprint and combined population of 120,000, our personnel stand ready for any call that comes in.

Good Samaritans worked together to rescue a driver trapped inside a sinking SUV in Virginia.

A man was able to bust through the rear windshield and pull the driver out to safety as the vehicle fully submerged in the frigid water.

Virginia Beach Police said that the driver and two good Samaritans were taken to the hospital for non-serious injuries.

BREAKING: Minutes ago at my direction, HSI and FBI agents executed an arrest in Minnesota.

So far, we have arrested Nekima Levy Armstrong, who allegedly played a key role in organizing the coordinated attack on Cities Church in St. Paul, Minnesota.

Homeland Security Investigators and FBI agents arrested Nekima Levy Armstrong who played a key role in orchestrating the Church Riots in St. Paul, Minnesota.

She is being charged with a federal crime under 18 USC 241.
