This past weekend, multiple illegal vehicle sideshows occurred throughout the City of Sacramento. Several vehicles involved were stopped, and through the coordinated efforts of officers on the ground and assisting agencies’ air and ground units, officers also pursued suspect vehicles that refused to stop when enforcement was attempted.

As a result, suspect vehicles were impounded, multiple citations were issued, and arrests were made for charges related to sideshow activity and vehicle pursuits.

Sideshow activity is illegal and poses serious dangers to participants, bystanders, and surrounding communities. It can also result in significant property damage and disrupt neighborhoods. These dangerous stunts put innocent drivers, pedestrians, and children at risk.

Sideshow activity will not be tolerated. SPD remains committed to proactive vehicle enforcement and will continue working to identify offenders and hold them accountable. Penalties may include fines, vehicle impoundment, and arrest.

What You Can Do:
- If you witness sideshow activity within the City of Sacramento, contact the Sacramento Police Department. Your report could save lives.
- Know that the thrill of illegal stunts isn’t worth the risk to yourself, your passengers, or the community.
- Stay safe, drive responsibly, and respect our neighborhoods.
