The men and women of the USCG are the best of the best in the world at what they do.

On January 9th in Puerto Rico, the U.S. Coast Guard found a 68-year-old man alive after being stranded for more than a day, and executed a heroic and flawless operation to rescue him by helicopter despite rough seas, rocky surroundings, and low visibility in the dead of night.

The men and women of the U.S. Coast Guard are diligent and dedicated, and America is blessed to have them keeping watch.

NEW: 3 inmates were killed and 13 hospitalized Sunday following a security incident at Washington State Prison in Davisboro, Georgia.

Deputies responded to the prison after the Georgia Department of Corrections requested assistance in securing the facility. While GDC officials worked to stabilize the interior of the prison, sheriff's deputies secured the perimeter.
The sheriff said he believes the inmates were fighting amongst themselves, causing the prison to go on lockdown.

The Washington County Coroner's Office confirmed that two inmates died during the event. The sheriff reported that 13 additional inmates were transported to a local hospital for treatment. The Georgia State Patrol assisted with security at the medical facility.
Late Sunday, officials said a third inmate had died. It is unknown if that was an inmate taken to the hospital or someone else.

Officers from the NYPD 115th Precinct responded to a call of a choking baby and immediately took action. Back blows dislodged the obstruction and a life was saved. This is training, instinct, and calm under pressure when seconds matter most.

Today, the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department Family honors and remembers Detective Amber Leist, who died on January 12, 2020.  Detective Leist was fatally struck by a vehicle while assisting a fallen pedestrian cross the street. She will live in our hearts and never be forgotten.💙

After 32 years of service in law enforcement, Colonel Matthew D. Hanley, Superintendent of Virginia State Police, has issued the following statement, regarding his retirement: “It has been an honor to serve this great Commonwealth as a longstanding member of the Virginia State Police. I am proud of the incredible work the agency has accomplished and am grateful for the commitment that our sworn and professional staff provide daily. Virginia is in a better place today because of their dedication and I will greatly miss serving alongside them.”
