After years of demonizing deputies, slashing budgets, pushing defund-the-police hysteria, and treating law enforcement like the enemy… now they want to clutch pearls because staffing is in the toilet and vacancies are exploding.

This crisis didn’t “happen.” It was manufactured by the same career politicians who sold out public safety for applause from the anti-cop crowd and a few trending hashtags.

They spent years:
smearing deputies
pandering to activists
protecting insiders
and turning the Sheriff’s Department into a political punching bag.

And now we’re supposed to act surprised that morale is dead, retirements are surging, resignations are up, and patrol cars are disappearing like accountability in a Board of Supervisors meeting.

What did they think would happen?

You can’t publicly humiliate an agency, treat its workforce like criminals, block career advancement, and strip resources… and then expect people to line up for the job. That’s not leadership. That’s calculated, strategic sabotage.

But don’t worry, the  political elite are on the case. They’ll probably form a task force, hire a consultant, create a DEI working group, and issue a “strongly worded statement” about how concerned they are… while the streets are left unprotected.

This is what political betrayal looks like in real time, and there is no path to recovery with the current “leadership” in place.

Longtime Congressman Doug LaMalfa died at the age of 65. He represented District 1 in Congress for more than a decade.  LaMalfa died at Enloe Hospital following a medical emergency, multiple officials confirmed Tuesday.  Here is how he is being remembered.
