The Middletown Police Department, Connecticut  announced the passing of Detective Sergeant Daniel Smith #121 (Smitty) age 42, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Sgt. Smith proudly served the City of Middletown for 19 years, Throughout his career, he was widely respected for his humble demeanor, kind disposition, and unwavering dedication to service. As a member of our Special Investigations Unit, Sgt. Smith worked tirelessly to protect victims of domestic violence, child abuse, and sexual assault. He also served as a Patrol Supervisor and Fire Investigator as part of the Arson Unit.

Riverton Police WY Officer injured in overnight traffic collision.    

A Riverton Police Officer was injured last evening when his patrol vehicle was struck from a vehicle leaving the Wind River Casino shortly at 11:00 PM. The officer was Northbound on Hwy 789 when the second car apparently crossed the intersection at Red Wolf Pl.
The Riverton 911 Emergency Dispatch Center received an automated  CRASH ALERT from a Riverton Police vehicle which had just completed a prisoner transport to the Fremont County Detention center in Lander. The dispatcher was able to communicate to the injured officer. Riverton City Fire Rescue/Ambulance and 1st responders in the area responded to the collision. The officer had reported being trapped inside the patrol car. The driver of the other vehicle reported being uninjured.

The Riverton Officer, who was the sole occupant of the police vehicle,  was transported to a local hospital and was released early Thursday morning. Please join us in sending prayers and, or positive thoughts for a full recovery🙏🏻

The Howard County Department of Fire and Rescue sadly announced the passing of Master Firefighter Bernard Arnold while off duty.

Throughout his 26 years at HCDFRS, Master Firefighter Arnold primarily worked at Stations 8 and 13 in Ellicott City and Glenwood and was known for his big smile and a sense of humor that could put anyone at ease.

St. Louis County, MN deputy hurt in collision during suspect chase.

A homicide suspect wanted in Ramsey County was arrested in Duluth Saturday morning after a vehicle pursuit that ended in a crash and foot chase.

The suspect vehicle took off northbound on North Shore Drive several miles before it crashed near the intersection of North Shore Drive and Homestead Road.
The suspect attempted to get away on foot but was apprehended a short distance later by law enforcement from the St. Louis County Sheriff’s Office, Duluth Police Department, and the Minnesota State Patrol.

A St. Louis County deputy was treated and released from a local hospital for minor injuries sustained during a collision between the suspect vehicle and a marked patrol vehicle. Please join us in sending prayers and, or positive thoughts for his recovery🙏🏻

In other news: Resident talks about the monkeys still on the loose. They were first spotted on Thursday in north St. Louis. The Animals Care and Control Division said exotic animals are prohibited in the city, and where the monkeys came from remains unknown.

ICE conducts targeted operations to enforce federal immigration laws that have existed for decades, and they do it with the utmost professionalism. They don’t choose who gets deported, the law and federal judges do. They didn’t pass the laws nor can they change them. If you don’t like the laws, take it up with Congress. That’s their constitutional duty…ours is enforcing them.
