ICYMI: The Los Angeles Police Department released video of an officer-involved shooting after a suspect fired multiple rounds at a police helicopter in South Los Angeles. The incident happened Nov. 20 when officers responding to an assault call spotted the armed suspect in a front yard and issued commands to drop the weapon. Police say the suspect refused to comply, retreated into his home, and was later taken into custody after a SWAT response and K9 deployment. Authorities confirmed the suspect was not struck by gunfire and was booked on charges of assault with a deadly weapon on a police officer.

Doug LaMalfa, a Northern California congressman representing the state's District 1, has died, according to multiple officials on Tuesday. He was 65.  National Republican Congressional Committee Chairman Richard Hudson said he was "deeply saddened by the passing of my colleague and close friend."  "Doug was a principled conservative and a tireless advocate for the people of Northern California," Hudson said in a release.
