This is the end of a pursuit that started NB 5 at 85th. A WSP Lieutenant contacted a pedestrian that was running across the freeway. The pedestrian pushed her down and stole the patrol vehicle. A pursuit ensued and finally came to an end SB I-5 in Lynnwood.

These are data-based results which defy armchair “analysis.”

North Carolina: A large police presence in Mint Hill has closed Matthews-Mint Hill Road.

Around 11 a.m. local time on Friday, there were reports of shots being fired on the 6800 block of Matthews-Mint Hill Road.

Mint Hill is in Mecklenburg County just east of the City of Charlotte.

On December 26, 2025, at approximately 10:47 a.m., Mint Hill Police officers responded to Edible Arrangements, located at 6832 Matthews-Mint Hill Road, regarding a child custody exchange.

During the interaction, the male subject produced a firearm. An exchange of gunfire occurred, and two Mint Hill Police officers were struck. Both officers are in critical condition.

The suspect was shot and is deceased.

UPDATE: Both officers were transported to local hospitals, where they are now in stable condition. The incident remains under active investigation, and additional information will be released tomorrow.
